Cell membrane

The selectively permeable membrane surrounding the cytoplasm of a cell. Water cells are permeable by osmosis.

The outer shell of a beehive that can only be entered by the bee’s.

Both protect the inters of their structures to protect all of the inter working parts.

Cytoplasm

The material or organisms within a living cell.

All of the different areas of the hive. The both are similar because in each

different part something is happening but isn't doing the same exact thing as something else.

Nucleus

The center of the cell that controls everything.

In the beehive it is the boss of the hive. The boss keeps things running smoothly, it is the queen bee.

Both are similar because these are the only reason why there is a cell or a beehive.

Endoplasmic Reticulum

The site of protein synthesis there the proteins and foods are made for the cell.

The honey for the bee’s to eat and stay alive. Made by the worker bee’s.

Both are food for the whole structure.

Ribosomes A minute particle consisting of RNA and

associated proteins, found in large numbers in the cytoplasm of living cells. They bind messenger RNA and transfer RNA to synthesize polypeptides and proteins.

The drone bee’s make the honey and gather the pollen also do anything to help the hive.

Both compare because they are the ones that pass skills onto the next generation.

Nucleolus

A small dense round body within the non-dividing nucleus of eukaryotic cells plays an important role in ribosome manufacture and by extension protein synthesis, also carries DNA and RNA.

The queen be is the bee that carries all of the genetic material because she is the one that makes most larvae.

Both are making new parts and cells.

Mitochondria

An organelle found in large numbers in most cells, in which the biochemical processes of respiration and energy production occur. It has a double membrane, the inner layer being folded inward to form layers.

The worker bee’s do all the repairing of the hive, also making he hive.

Both are about making things that are needed.

Golgi Body

An organelle present in eukaryotic cells that functions as a collection and or packaging center for substances that the cell manufacturers for transport.

The larva are the packages of the hive that are produced to help the cell.

Both are the production or packaging of materials.

Vacuole

A space or vesicle within the cytoplasm of a cell, enclosed by a membrane and typically containing fluid.

The honey comb of the hive that holds the honey, larva, and bee’s.

Holding areas for storage.
