WINTER ADDRESS REMINDER!! Please let us know when you leave for the winter so
we can change your mailing address in our system. Thanks!
Thank You for Your Generous Support! Thank you American Lutheran members and friends for your generous support of our congregational mission through prayer and the giving of time, talents and financial resources. Your love and commitment to Christ and your church enables us to carry on a wide and varied ministry. As we approach the end of our fiscal year, people often wonder where we are at when it comes to the budget. Here is a snapshot of our annual operating budget (“Box 1”) for January-November:
Actual Income $401,834 Expense 417,233 Net -$15,399
Though we do not send out personal giving statements until after the end of the year, some would like to have this information earlier to check their progress toward their estimate of giving for the year or for planning year-end giving. Please know that you can ask the church office (376-5264) at any time for a printout of your personal giving.
Your generous gifts during December will enable us to accomplish our planned ministry for 2018. Thank you again for your generosity as we carry out the mission Christ calls us to do together.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We praise you with joy this Christmas for all your love and grace made known to us at the cradle.
Help us, through your spirit, to seek ways to share the
peace and joy you so abundantly share with us.
Give us an awareness of the joy that is present for us in the Child born in the manger.
We thank you for the joy of living in a covenant with you.
Bless those who are hurting, sad and lonely, that they may find the joy of the season.
With Joy around the manger, Amen.
It is time to PLAY hard and PRAY harder! It might be cold outside…but we are having some
summer fun “Camp Style”.

A very deep heart felt thank you to all who helped during my husband’s funeral. With your prayers and visits it helped make the day a little easier for us. Thank you to Pastor Bailey for the service, your visits and your prayers. Thank you to Pastor Gary for your visits and your prayers.
Blessings to all — the family of Steven Engler.

Holiday Eating The holidays are almost over, and the
overeating with it. How can we get ourselves and our family back on track? Here are a few helpful hints:
• Overeating- teach children about using ‘MyPlate’ method:
• ‘12-3’ (on the plate) is for meats and proteins; ‘3-6’ (on the plate) is for grains and other starches; ‘6-12’ is for vegetables and fruits.
• Neglecting vegetables- try roasting vegetables, this brings out the sweetness in them. Involve children in the preparation; make it fun for them.
• Overdoing sweets and treats- Put leftover sweet treats in the freezer and eat them in moderation. Replace the cookie plate with a bowl of fruit.
Healthy eating is for everyone. It is also about a time to renew your family commitment to enjoy a heathy, happy life together by feeding our bodies well.
Our bodies belong to God. In 1 Corinthians 6:12-20, it says we are to honor the Master with our bodies, remember that our bodies are created with the same dignity as the Master’s body. By choosing a proper diet and exercise regime, we are glorifying God. All things are from God, through God, and to God. The Glory is all His!
5:30-6:30 Meal w/dessert – for everyone!
6:30-7:00 UpBeat! Worship – for Confirmation students and parents, and everyone!
7:00-7:45 Confirmation continues
