Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree students at the Sir ArthurLewis Community College can enroll in the Gateways programmeand go global.

The Gateways programme provides Sir Arthur Lewis CommunityCollege students with an advantage in accessing some of the top-rated Universities for Innovation in the world. This means thatGateways students will carry out projects and undertake internshipsalongside international students.

Gateways students will have the opportunity to set-up a for-profitbusiness on the Start-Up Space platform which provides access tocritical virtual resources for building relationships and networks.

The Gateways programme is structured to fit around theschedule of your regular Associate Degree. The seminarsand workshops take place in blocks and are structured tocontinuously build your knowledge repertoire so thatyou are fully equipped for the practical projects.

The seminar series is designed to help you identifyemerging opportunities. Within this series you will alsotake part in a design thinking workshop in which youwill come up with a product or service to be enteredinto the design competition, after which you maylaunch your business idea!

The summer period will be used for you to gainexperience through an entrepreneurship franchiseprogramme, collaborative community projects or anexchange programme depending on your interests.Many Universities also ask that you come in with proofof community involvement and extra-curricularexperience.

Various embassies will deliver a host of immersion activities.

This workshop will feature talks, performances, culinary displaysand samplings alongside other activities. Cultural Intelligence isall about knowing how to interact with different cultures. Weare all different and whereas one thing is acceptable in oneculture it may be offensive in another. Our various speakers willshed light on how to prepare for being a global ambassador,and the keys to understanding and being accepted by everysociety on the planet.

Innovation Design at Arizona State University.

SEMINAR 5: SUSTAINABILITY AND INNOVATION – THE FUTURE OFENTREPRENEURSHIPDr. Shirley-Ann Behvaresh, Senior Sustainability Scientist and a Lecturer with the School of Sustainability, Arizona State University.
