About the CourseThis course is designed to address the wide range of gastroen-terological conditions commonly seen in primary care. Attendees will receive clinical updates and useful management strategies for commonly seen conditions. Course content will be clinically ori-ented, informal, and interactive, with illustrative case presenta-tions and opportunities for questions and comments.
Target AudiencePrimary Care physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, and members of the health care team who seek to advance their knowledge in this area.
Course ObjectivesAt the end of the conference, attendees will be able to:
• Apply new approaches to abnormal LFT and obstructive jaundice.
• Implement tools and techniques to effectively manage patients with irritable bowel syndrome.
• Diagnose and treat anemia.
• Apply current information on evaluation and management of hepatitis C in daily practice.
• Summarize current concepts of pathogenesis, diagnostic tests, and treatments for inflammatory bowel disease.
• Discuss treatment options for patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and use of proton pump inhibitors.
• Discuss treatment options for celiac sprue.
• Articulate current guidelines for colorectal cancer screening.
