Trees in the urban environment provide a sense of place and help cool the heat island effect that happens in highly dense urban areas. Unfortunately, proper tree management and maintenance is often misunderstood.

This course focuses on tree maintenance and preservation in an urban environment. Students are introduced to the process of tree hazard evaluation, learning how to properly and effectively diagnose tree problems, current industry standards, and professional ethics.
