The Garden State Central Model Railroad Club, Inc. (GSC) is leaving our

headquarters of 35 years in Asbury Park due to the sale of the building. We are

looking to relocate to a home where a new museum-quality display can be built and

opened for the general public on select days. It will be just the second move in the 46

year history of the club, which was founded in 1963 in Long Branch, NJ.

The GSC recreates the last great era of America’s industrial age via hand-crafted HO

scale replicas of industries and towns along the 1950’s rail transportation network

between Scranton, PA and Jersey City, NJ.

! We interpret the mines that gave us coal to heat our homes…

! The furnaces that poured steel for the Golden Gate Bridge…

! The forges that armor-clad American battleships in WWII…

! And the mills that produced cement for the modern world.

Over a period of 46 consecutive years the GSC has held public open houses

drawing 200-750 people per weekend. The “Last Run” celebration on 2/21/09

attracted over 1,000 visitors in a single afternoon. We frequently meet families

with three or four generations of GSC show attendees.

For scouts seeking railroading badges, school children learning about our

industrial heritage and historians researching the rich past of American history,

the GSC is a willing partner and educator.

models are actors and our layout the stage upon which a slice of
