Principal’s Message

It was so wonderful to have Harrison Himmelberg and Matthew Flynn from the GWS Giants visit us last Friday to talk to the children and sign some photos courtesy of Mrs Booth. Even though we are a little school we are so pleased to provide these terrific opportunities for our students.

Speaking of AFL, we had a number of children try out for the district AFL team yesterday. Well done to everyone for tremendous participation and effort. We also had some girls try out for the district netball team. As a result Seb Hamblin and Kaitlin Logan will be representing Ganmain Public School in the District AFL team and Kaitlin Logan, Claudia Bingham and Abbey Hamblin will be representing Ganmain Public School in netball later in the term. Thank you to Miss Newman and Miss Hatcher for running the trials.

Sport is very prominent in Term 1 and we have a number of children travelling to Albury for the Riverina Swimming carnival next Monday. We wish Seb Hamblin, Nate Hamblin, Chloe Clark and Abbey Hamblin all the best.

This Friday we will be recognising Clean Up Australia Day with a clean up of the school grounds. Kinder to Year 4 will clean up inside the school grounds with Mrs Campbell and Miss Newman. Whilst Year 5 & 6 will clean up around the outside boundary of the school grounds. If children have gardening gloves at home they can bring them to school on Friday.

Respect is so important in all aspects of life. We are having a big push this term in showing children what respect looks like, sounds like and feels like. If parents could reinforce this important aspect at home as well it would be very much appreciated. Ganmain Public School is so lucky to have such terrific parents who work with us for the benefits of their children.

Have a great week and keep smiling!
