• Game design is the art of applying design and aesthetics to create a game to facilitate interaction between players for entertainment or for medical, educational, or experimental purposes.
• Game design creates goals, rules, and challenges to define a sport, tabletop game, casino game, video game, role-playing game, war game or simulation that produces desirable interactions among its participants and, possibly, spectators.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED• Job qualifications for a video game designer
generally require a bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering and some experience in computer programming.
• Computer certifications, such as Java, C++ and Flash are also helpful
• The minimum eligibility required for most of these courses is 10+2 or its equivalent. For becoming a Game programmer, one should have B.E/ B.Tech degree in computer engineering.
