DAKSH 2k19 Report

Daksh is techno-cultural fest held every year by the department of Computer

Science and technology. It is the amalgamation of the hard work put up by the

seniors as well as the juniors with the complete supports of the faculties.

Various contest in various fields are held so as to engage the crowd in every

sense, be it cultural gaming or technical. Daksh 2k19 broke all the bounds of

grandeur with the events being better and bigger.

The fiesta started with the auspicious hawan which marked the

goodwill that followed the fest. All the people, be it the students or teachers

participated equally in the pooja.

The Hawan was followed by the Inauguration Ceremony. This ceremony

included the Lighting of the Lamp, Memento receiving and power packed

performances to kick start the grand day.

1. HACKATHON

A Hackathon, is a Techno-Fest, where the budding software engineers come

together to form teams to solve a problem or develop new ideas. Hackathon is a

worldwide recognized event, where software experts collaboratively develop and

present their ideas in an extreme manner over a short period of time. Developers,

innovators and designers participate in Hackathon in teams to build an innovative

model to solve some given problem sets. Hackathon is the ultimate platform for

exhibition of skills for the budding engineers.

Rules:-

• It is single round event.

• The participants team should be present their ideas through Blog or Facebook

page or develop the website as per the theme provide on the spot.

• Maximum number of participants in a team: 02

• Maximum time allotted to each team: 4 hours

• Theme will be provided at the time of the event.

• Participants can carry their personal systems.

2. CODING WIZARD

DESCRIPTION:-

The participants have to login to online portal with their user id. 5 Problem

statement will be provided, 4 questions having complexity medium and 1

question having complexity hard. Each question of medium complexity will be

of 20 marks while questions of complexity hard will be of 40 marks. 90 min will

be provided for 5 question .

Rules:-

Single round event . Individual participation.90 min will be provided for 5

questions.

3. GADGET REVIEW

Participants must have a good knowledge of new and modern technologies

we are using now a days. And gadgets made using these technology. Basically

there will be four rounds.

The first three rounds will based on the knowledge of camera, processor and

screen-display ratio respectively. And the last round will be a Q&A session.

Points will be provided in each round, and based on the total points, the winner

will decided.

Rules:-

•Individual participation is there.

•Use of internet or any other materials are not allowed.

No elimination will be there after any round.

4. BLIND CODING

This is an individual event. Participants have to write their code in

notepad file in C,C++,Python or JAVA. The complexity of problem statement

provided will be medium. Each participant have to write exact code for

problem statement as written in

The time provided will be 60 min of time

Rules:-

• Each participant has to write the code for given problem, with MONITOR

OFF.

• Participants whose code gets executed will be given higher preference.

• The second preference will be given to code with least number of errors.

• In case of tie in number of errors, program complexity will be checked.

which error will occur.

1. DEBATE

Round1:-Participants will be provided the topic 2 days before the event. They

have to speak either in favour or against the motion. No diplomacy shall be

tolerated.

Round2:-The second round will be an open house. Candidates will be given a

topic on the spot and they have to discuss their opinions with our judge as the

moderators.

Rules:-

●Time limit is 3+1 minutes. The participants will be given 3 minutes to speak

and a warning will be given after that to wrap-up in the next 1 minute.

●If the contestants fails to speak for the stipulated time(3 mins) or exceeds the

time limit, then negative marking will be there.

●Use of abusive, vague and incorrect or invalid points may also lead to

negative marking

●The verdict of the judging committee would be considered as final.

2. ONCE UPON A TIME

We'll provide you with a famous story which you'll be already aware of and then

we'll give a prop ( prop can be anything like tree, bird etc) and you'll have to

rewrite the entire story around that prop and change the climax as required .

2. BUILD AND CLICK

A photograph not only holds a moment from running away, but it also reflects the

creativity of making it. This event is all about bringing the best out of the budding

photographers by challenging them to create a piece of art with the help of waste

products and then, doing justice to their creativity by clicking a beautiful portrait of

the piece they have created.

There will be four categories:

1. Linear

2. Circular

3. Honeycomb

4. Black and white

Rules and regulations:

1) The participant can take part in any two of the given challenges

2) The participants can bring their own waste product if they require. 3) Scissors,

Tape, sticking material, etc. will not be provided hence, the participants are required

to bring them.

4) Paint, sketch pens, paint brushes are to be brought by the participant itself.

5) The participant will be allowed to pick only once from the materials provided.

6) One participant can pick only 8 products for their display.

7) Basic Editing of the photograph is allowed.

8) Time limit for both the challenges will be combined 25 minutes.

Certificates will be provided to all.

1. CS-GO

Counter Strike-Global Offensive expands upon the team based action game

playwhere different teams contest against each other in a game that includes

various maps, weapons, characters and game modes.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

All participants are expected to arrive on the arena at least 10 minutes before the

allotted time slot, failing which the team may be disqualified.

NOTE: • There will be no restriction on guns to be played. Also all sorts of boosts

are allowed. • Intentional friendly fires will not be tolerated at all costs.

• Knives and Tasersare allowed.

• In case of any doubts, contact the undersigned.

Rules:

1. There will be only 1 captain.

2. There will be a veto process for Bo1 among the 7 maps: Dust2, Mirage, Cache,

Overpass, NUKE, Inferno & Train. The participants are advised to know at

least 4 maps, so that they can be assured that at least 1 map of their choice will

be played.Only the captains will join the server for veto map process.

3. There will be a knife round among the 2 captains to decide who will decide

first. The winner gets to decide if he wants to go first or second.

4. Turn by turn each captain will remove the map his team doesn’t want to play.

At the end, the person who gets to select among remaining 2 maps will decide

which map his team wants to play. NOTE: Among the remaining 2 maps, the

player will actually select the map they want to play. It will not be a veto. The

chosen map will be played between the 2 teams.

6. There will be a warm up time of exactly 5 minutes for both the teams which

will be done on a Death match server on the selected map which will be played.

The players are required to remember these simple commands. These commands

are to be typed in the main chat. (a) “/r or /ready or /rdy” –Marks you ready (b)

“/uror /nr or /unready or /notready” –Marks you not ready (c) “/s or /score”-

Displays score if live (d) “/pause” –To pause the match (Will pause at the end of

round) € “/unpause” –To unpausethe match (f) “/stay & /switch” –Stay or Switch

side after the knife round.

When all players have marked as ready, knife round will start which will decide

the sides. The captain of winner team will decide the side his team wants to play

by typing /stay or /switch in the main chat.

7. The match will go LIVE next and will be played according to competitive

mode in CS: GO. 9-In case the team wants to pause, they can type /pause in main

chat which will pause the match at the end of the round. Similarly, they can

unpauseby typing /unpause.

NOTE: Only 2 pauses per team per half will be given. The pause duration will not

be more than 2 minutes. 10-In case of a draw, overtime will be played in which

10000$ will be given to each team & 6 rounds will be played, 3 each side and the

team to clinch 4 rounds will be winner. If not, another overtime will be continued

until the winner is declared.

2. PUBG

EVENT DESCRIPTION: It is a multiplayer game where the participants

parachute on an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill other

while avoid being killing. The available safe area of the game's map decreases in

size over time, directing surviving players into tighter areas to force encounters.

The last player or team standing wins the round.

REGISTRATION FEE-Solo -₹30 / Squad-₹100

Prize-Solo-₹10/kill + ₹100 to winner
