COURSESAVIATION ENGINEERING Delivered in partnership with KLM UK Engineering, this two-year course will be delivered at the International Aviation Academy Norwich (IAAN) and is ideal for those looking to pursue a career in aviation engineering.

Entry requirements• Five GCSEs, including Maths and English

with grades A*-C (9-4)• or Level 2 Engineering with Maths and

English GCSE (grade A*-C/9-4)

ProgressionProvided that the year one Level 2

qualification and Maths and English GCSE grades A*-C/9-4 are attained, you will be eligible for invitation to the year two Level 3 qualification with City College Norwich.

This consists of EASA Category A (supported by a recognised Level 3 qualification) to be achieved in Year Two.

The Level 3 qualification would allow subsequent progression onto the BSc (Hons) in Professional Aviation Engineering Practice degree subject to successful interview.

Career opportunitiesAn opportunity to apply for an apprenticeship with an aircraft engineering organisation and/or a higher education qualification within the aviation engineering sector.

BSC (HONS) PROFESSIONAL AVIATION ENGINEERING PRACTICE Delivered in partnership with KLM UK Engineering and validated by the University of East Anglia, the programme will provide a mix of academic study and work practice at the International Aviation Academy Norwich (IAAN). This programme will be delivered in classrooms, workshops and the world-class IAAN Emulation Zone®.

This programme develops the knowledge, technical skills, understanding and awareness necessary to develop a career in the technical, supervisory or management areas of the Aviation Engineering industry subject to successful interview.

Entry requirements• 96 UCAS points

(or appropriate Level 3 qualification)• GCSE Maths and English

(at either grade C/grade 5 and above)

Mature students with a relevant industrial background may also be considered. Applications from students whose first language is not English and international students are welcome (we require evidence of proficiency in English).

Progression and career opportunitiesA career in aviation engineering (or related area) or a pathway to further study at Masters, M.Phil. and PhD level.

(LEVEL 3) AIRCRAFT APPRENTICESHIPS Overview

• Two Apprenticeship Pathways – Structures & Maintenance

• Learn how to perform aircraft maintenance & structures tasks

• Learn the required practical & theoretical skills to become a qualified Aircraft Mechanic

• Be provided with all the relevant tools and safety equipment

• Receive 3 years fully funded training whilst receiving a salary

• Candidates progressing on from the Aviation Engineering course are welcome to apply

• Be trained to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 / EASA Category A

Delivery

• 3 year programme

• Combination of study with KLM UK Engineering at the IAAN and practical work within the base maintenance hangars
