Weve been noticing a lot of ankles

    showing around school, which means

that it is time to put out the used uni-

forms again so families can go throug

and find items to meet the needs of t

children. These will be placed on the

tables in the staff lounge on the main

floor of the school during SSFD. The

and Found bin is also full of items. Ta

time to go through the items and find

those missing articles of clothing and

    winter wear.

Be sure to read over the CSW brochur

this weekend to plan for the fun dress

days as well as what items we are col

lecting each day for the deployed troo

affiliated with the GA Parish. Please a

plan on attending the GA Volunteer Ev

ning on Thursday for some Ice Cream

    socializing and Bingo! Nine parishion

and school volunteers will be recogniz

for their outstanding service to our

    school and parish.

Many blessings to you and your fam

    ily!Mrs. Amy Gallus

    Dear GA Families

We have reached the halfway point of

our school year, and next weeks

    Catholic Schools Week celebration is

definitely a highlight for students and

staff alike. We have a whole week to

celebrate what we are at our coreA

    Catholic School educating the whole

child for todays world! As part of the

    greater Catholic School System, we

have much to be proud about. Local

Catholic High Schools have a 99.4%

    graduation ratethat is a phenomenal

statistic. If you have not heard, the

Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapo-

lis has been researching and have

now put together a campaign to get

the word out about the success of the

    Catholic School system. The cam-

paign is called Aim Higher. What a

fitting phrase to describe the value of

    our school.

We as a school Aim Higher in.

~Spiritual and Character Development~Better Academics and Outcomes

    ~Individual Attention

    ~Being a Supportive Community

These are the top four promises of a

Catholic school education, and while I

didnt create the list on my own, I cant

disagree with a single item on it. I am

sure you agree with me. Coming home

with your students today are a few

copies of our postcard that was mailed

out to prospective families as well as a

letter explaining the new Referral Pro-

gram we are starting. Please take a

minute to read over the information

and start spreading the Good News in

    Education about Guardian Angels.

One of the things I have discovered I

love about my job is when I hear great

news about our students and alums.

On an almost weekly basis, I hear a

comment, speak to a former GA stu-

dent, or learn a wonderful nugget of

information. Because of this, we have

created our GA Brag Boardcheck it

out when you are here next. It is at the

far end of the main entrance hallway.

This weeks news was about Mario

    Zattonijunior at Benilde St. Margarets

and teammate of the injured hockey

player. He and his friends organized a

fund raiser this past weekend to aid in

the hospital bills and rehabilitation of

    their friend. When I communicated

with his mother, Lynette, she replied to

me We both know he got a great

    start learning about Christian servitude

years ago. Yes, he did, right here at

    GA!

This weekend is going to be a great way

to showcase our school. There is so

much planned for the event, I hope you

and your family can partake in the

festivities. Well have the whole school

on display, participation in all the week-

end Masses by our students, tours

    given and prospective families invited,

Dads Belgian Waffles to eat, games to

play, silent auction items to bid on, and

the list goes on! Hope to see you there.

Introducing Our New Hospitality Ministry and Baking Brigade!!

Do you like to entertain, bake or just meet people and make them feel welcome? If so,we invite you to join our new GA hospitality ministry. This ministry will support parish-

wide events such as a reception for our parish feast day or a welcome event for a new

priest, deacon or staff member. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to

either coordinate an event or those folks who would rather just help out. Maybe you

could get a team of 2-3 friends or family members who would be willing to coordinate

an event or two each year as a mini-social bonding event between friends/family? We

would also like to create a Baking Brigade of folks who would be willing to occasion-

ally bake treats for parish events. If you are interested in any of these activities please

    contact Marie Guillemette 952-368-3086.
