PRECAUTIONS FOR INSTALLATION, USE AND MAINTENANCE

Read this manual carefully before using the product and keep it in a safe place for reference. This product was constructed up to standard and in compliance with regulations relating to electrical equipment and must be installed by technically qualified personnel.The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for damage to persons or property resulting from failure to observe the regulations contained in this booklet.

•Thedeviceshouldnotbeusedforapplicationsotherthanthosespecifiedinthismanual.•Afterremovingtheproductfromitspackaging,verifyitscondition.Incaseofdoubt,contactaqualifiedtechnician.Donotleave

packaging within the reach of small children or people with disabilities. •Donottouchtheappliancewithwetordamphands/feet.•Thisappliancecanbeusedbychildrenagedfrom8yearsandaboveandpersonswithreducedphysical,sensoryormental

capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

•Donotusetheproductinthepresenceofflammablevapours,suchasalcohol,insecticides,gasoline,etc.•Ifanyabnormalitiesinoperationaredetected,disconnectthedevicefromthemainssupplyandcontactaqualifiedtechnician

immediately. Use original spare parts only for repairs.•Theelectricalsystemtowhichthedeviceisconnectedmustcomplywithregulations.•Beforeconnectingtheproducttothepowersupplyorthepoweroutlet,ensurethat: - the data plate (voltage and frequency) correspond to those of the electrical mains -theelectricalpowersupply/socketisadequateformaximumdevicepower.Ifnot,contactaqualifiedtechnician.•Thedeviceshouldnotbeusedasanactivatorforwaterheaters,stoves,etc.,norshoulditdischargeintohotair/fumeventductsderivingfromanytypeofcombustionunit.Itmustexpelairoutsideviaitsownspecialduct.

•Operatingtemperature:0°Cupto+40°C.•The device is designed to extract clean air only, i.e.without grease, soot, chemical or corrosive agents, or flammable or

explosive mixtures. •Donotleavethedeviceexposedtoatmosphericagents(rain,sun,snow,etc.).•Donotimmersethedeviceoritspartsinwaterorotherliquids.•Turnoffthemainswitchwheneveramalfunctionisdetectedorincaseofcleaning/maintenance.•Forinstallationanomnipolarswitchshouldbeincorporatedinthefixedwiring,inaccordancewiththewiringregulations,toprovideafulldisconnectionunderovervoltagecategoryIIIconditions(contactopeningdistanceequaltoorgreaterthan3mm).

•Ifthesupplycordisdamaged,itmustbereplacedbythemanufacturer,itsserviceagentorsimilarlyqualifiedpersonsinorderto avoid a hazard.

•Donotobstructthefanorexhaustgrilletoensureoptimumairpassage.•Ensureadequateairreturnintotheroomincompliancewithexistingregulationsinordertoensureproperdeviceoperation.•Iftheenvironmentinwhichtheproductisinstalledalsohousesafuel-operatingdevice(waterheater,methanestoveetc.,thatisnota“sealedchamber”type),itisessentialtoensureadequateairintake,toensuregoodcombustionandproperequipmentoperation.

•InstalltheproductsothattheimpellerisnotaccessiblefromtheairoutletsideasverifiedbycontactwiththeTestFinger(testprobe“B”ofthenormEN61032)incompliancewiththecurrentsafetyregulations.

INTRODUCTIONMORIMEV(Fig.1)isawholehousemechanicalextractfandesignedtobeconnectedtoself-adjustingvalves.Suitableforceiling,false-ceilingorfloorinstallation,horizontallyorvertically.Versionwithintegralhumidistatavailable(MORIMEVHT).

cold climates.•Forwardcurvedcentrifugalimpellertoprovideasmoothandsilentairflowthroughtheunit.

STANDARD CONFORMITY

SinglespeedoperationTheunitrunsatthespeedsetbyturningtheintegraltrimmer“V1”intheterminalbox.This is the default factory setting.Wiringdiagram:Fig.5A-Dipswitchconfiguration:0000forMORIMEVHT(Fig.5F).Wiringdiagram:Fig.5A-Dipswitchconfiguration:0001forMORIMEV(Fig.5F).

Two speed operation Theunitrunscontinuouslyatthespeedsetbyturningtheintegraltrimmer“V1”intheterminalboxandcanbeboostedathighspeed,whichissetbyturningtheintegraltrimmer“V2”intheterminalbox.Boostisactivated,whenneeded,bymeansofaremote two-position switch (not supplied) or by means of remote sensors.Wiringdiagram:Fig.5B-Dipswitchconfiguration:1000forMORIMEVHT(Fig.5F).Wiringdiagram:Fig.5B-Dipswitchconfiguration:1001forMORIMEV(Fig.5F). Forhumidistatversiononly(MORIMEVHT)Whateveristhechosenoperationandthespeedsetting,whenthehumiditythresholdisreached,thefanspeedisincreasedby15%.Whenthehumiditylevelreturnsbelowthethreshold,thefancontinuestorunatincreasedspeedforapre-setperiodoftime.Humiditythresholdisadjustablefrom50%to95%viatrimmerHY(Fig.5G).Todeactivatethehumidistatfunction,turnthetrimmerHYcompletelyclockwise(positionG).

NOTE:Dipswitchnumber4shouldalwaysbein“0”positionforMORIMEVHTunittoenablehumidistatfunction.

OPERATION

MAINTENANCEMake sure the mains supply of the unit is disconnected before performing any maintenance.Themaintenancemustbecarriedoutbyaqualifiedtechnicianandinaccordancewithlocalrulesandregulations.The unit should be inspected regularly and cleaning should be carried out as and when required but please note intervals betweencleaningshouldnotexceed12months.Theinstallershouldexplainthiscleaningregimetothehomeowner/occupierandaskthehomeowner/occupiertokeeparecordofthecleaningdoneonthisleafletasthiswillberequiredtobeprovidedbythehomeowner/occupiertoclaimagainstanyproductfailureunderwarranty.
