Please read all the information below. Each month there will be two different competitions running, one for stage and onefor studio/home. Competitions for Australia, New Zealand, UK and Worldwide. Dates Comp one March 21 till March 31st Comp twoApril 1st -April 30th Comp Three May 1st- May 31stComp Four June 1st -June 30th Comp Five July 1st - July 31st How to enter: For further help with this please scroll to the end of this book1. Go to www.fydentry.com2. Login or Register (if you are a new user) with email and password 3. Click on solo/groups tab at the top 4. Enter your solo and/or group information (competitor names and birth dates)5. Click on Entries button6. Locate the competition you wish to enter, and hit the enter button 7. Tick the styles you want to enter for that competitor and hit save 8. If videos are ready to be uploaded (they need to be online on you tube link orvimeo or similar) click on the link and fill in the details. If videos are not ready, go to Entry Summary screen to finalise and pay for entries (you can come back to Entry Summary at any point to enter video information) 9. Repeat steps for any additional groups or competitors 10. You can check your entries at the entry summary page and pay. What are the costs ? Keeping in mind the current economic climate, we are keeping costs down. Frequently asked questions Are stage and studio/home videos judged together? No, there aredifferent comps for each. One comp each month for stage videos, the other isfor home/studio recordings. How is the comp judged? The same way as a normal competition.Choreography including Creativity, Artistry, Style & Originality, Overall impact)- 50% Execution (Technique Timing & Coordination, Projection &Expression) - 40% Costume Grooming - 10% Can I enter with a stage video from a different competition? Yes you can Time limits? All Solos 3min, except Song and Dance/tap 4min, Vocal 4min,Duos/Trios 3 min Groups 5min. Do i need to wear a costume and do hair and makeup? Yes please. Will I receive an award? Yes. Solos will get medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd andribbons for Honourable mentions and star awards. Duos/trios will get medalsand groups will get a certificate. All entrants will also receive a voice crit,score and place from a judge, accessible on the www.fydentry.com site underResults. Champion dancer section, for those who enter over 3 solos, will havea sash and cash prize, dependent on the number of entries. I only have old videos is this ok? Videos must not be older than 12 monthsold. Remember that you will be age grouped based on your current age. What is the age group ? Your age group is as of Jan 1st 2020 seewww.fydcomp.com for age groups. Can I enter multiple online comps with some filmed routines ? Yes, youcan enter each month with the same solo, just as you would at regularcomps, with different judges each month. How are the awards presented ? We will be doing the results live in aFacebook group, that you will be sent a link to, to watch live or watch after. How are the awards sent? In the post. Entries from outside Australia/NZ/UKwill need to get a quote for their awards to be sent. Can I still qualify for Nationals online ? Yes, you can for Aust/NZ/UK FYDNationals.

Can other people see my entry or is it just private between me and theadjudicator ? It is a private link, only the judge will ever see it, unless thelink you load is already on a public forum such as Youtube. Are there any rules on edits? Yes - your routine must be a continuouslyfilmed performance. The same performance from multiple cameras is fine,but edited routines made from different performances of the same routineare not acceptable. What are the costs ? Only the Studio owner or authorisedrepresentative can enter enter groups (Duo/Trio/Small Group/Large Group) What are the dates of the online comps and how long till results comeout ? The comps are running each months. March entries will start now andclose, March 31st, April 1st-April 30th, etc. Results will be out in the firstweek after the closing date. Upload to Vimeo (less chance of music being muted than You Tube)Step 1: Log Into Your AccountThe first thing that you should do is visit the Vimeo website. If you already have anaccount, log into it by clicking the login link. If you don't have an account, then youwill need to register. Follow the instructions and enter the necessary information tocreate your account.Step 2: Uploading the VideoClick the "Upload Video" button which is located on the home page of the site.Step 3: The Upload PageOnce you click the upload link, you will be taken to the upload page. This can beconfusing at times. You need to read through this and follow the directions. You willneed to ensure that you are permitted to upload the videos you are interested in. Step 4: Selecting the FileClick the "Choose a File to Upload" button and this will launch an upload dialogbox. Choose the file that you want to upload and then click on "Select". As soon asyou click the button, the video will start to be uploaded straight away. The progressbar should estimate how long the video will take to be uploaded.If you are using a slow Internet connection, then you will find it takes longer toupload. Just be patient and allow the video to be fully uploaded. If there are anyproblems with the uploaded video, then you will need to repeat the process andupload it a second time.Step 5: ConversionAs soon as the video is uploaded, the video will then be converted automatically.You can close this page if you want, and Vimeo will handle the conversionautomatically. Once the video has finished converting, the service will then emailyou once the conversion has finished.Step 6: Using the Desktop UploaderIf you are interested in uploading lots of files, then you will need to use the desktopuploader. This is optional, but will make uploading files much simpler.Click the download button to download the uploader to your computer. Accept thelicense details, and save the file on your computer. Follow all the instructions toinstall the application on your computer. This will then walk you through the processof uploading files to the service. How to upload your video to YouTubeThe actual process of uploading a video only takes a few clicks: Log in to your YouTube account.Click on the video icon at the top right hand side of the window, which can be foundnext to your user icon, messages, apps, and notifications.Click ‘Upload Video.’Then, press ‘select files to upload’ to find the video file saved on your computer. Or,you can drag and drop it into the window.An optional step is to choose the privacy settings on your videoAdd a description of the video Name and style of competitor
