FY 2010 Annual Report July 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010 The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) is recognized in northern New England as a leader in supporting and promoting children’s literacy. We have served more than 100,000 low-income, at-risk, and rural children since we were founded in 1998, and we’re just hitting our stride. This annual report is a heartfelt thank-you letter to the 568 individuals, companies, foundations, and organizations that supported CLiF in FY 2010. Your generosity enabled CLiF to provide our 16 free literacy programs to 15,500 children across New Hampshire and Vermont, a 15% increase over last year! CLiF serves those children who have the greatest need, and we are determined to continue providing them with vital literacy support because we believe that developing strong literacy skills may be the best way for them to ensure a brighter future for themselves, particularly during these challenging economic times. FY 2010 was a very productive year for CLiF. Besides being tremendously busy running all of our ongoing programs, we also: Expanded our latest program, helping families through Food Shelves, and served an additional 1,400 kids. Began a new initiative to provide fun storytelling events and inspiring new books to Children of National Guard Troops deployed overseas. Hosted our 6th CLiF Rural Library Conference (an event so popular it sold out three months in advance!) Welcomed Joanne Heidkamp to the CLiF staff as our Special Projects Coordinator. Received our first bequest. This gift from the late Mrs. Genevieve Morgan is already being used to inspire more young readers and writers. Communicated with more than 500 supporters and clients through Facebook and Twitter. Thank you so much for making CLiF’s free programs available to tens of thousands of children who need them the most! Duncan McDougall CLiF Executive Director

FY 2010 Annual ReportJuly 1, 2009 – June 30, 2010

The Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) is recognized in northern New England as a leader in supporting and promoting children’s literacy.

Besides being tremendously busy running all of our ongoing programs, we also:

➤ Expanded our latest program, helping families through Food Shelves, and served an additional 1,400 kids.

➤ Began a new initiative to provide fun storytelling events and inspiring new books to Children of National Guard Troops deployed overseas.

➤ Hosted our 6th CLiF Rural Library Conference (an event so popular it sold out three months in advance!)

➤ Welcomed Joanne Heidkamp to the CLiF staff as our Special Projects Coordinator.

➤ Received our fi rst bequest. This gift from the late Mrs. Genevieve Morgan is already being used to inspire more young readers and writers.

➤ Communicated with more than 500 supporters and clients through Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you so much for making CLiF’s free programs available to tens of thousands of children who need them the most!
