McKinsey & Company

McKinsey & Company is the world’s leading management consulting firm. With

exceptional people in 65 countries we combine global expertise and local insight

to help you create the change that truly matters. Over the last two years we have

established a local office in Brisbane to support private, public and social

sectors, and the Brisbane and Queensland community more broadly prosper.

We have always helped our clients identify and set the direction toward their

most important goals. Today, we go further: working together to turn these

ambitious goals into reality. From the C-suite to the front line, we partner with

our clients to transform their organisations in the ways that matter most to them.

This means embedding digital, analytics, and design into core processes and

mind-sets; building capabilities that help organisations and people to thrive in an

ever-changing context; and developing excellence in execution to ensure that

actions translate into outcomes, quickly and sustainably.

Today we are partnering with clients to design their future workforce strategy as

the integrate powerful new automation technologies, such as machine learning,

artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced robotics, into their business.

In our report Australia’s automation opportunity: Reigniting productivity and

inclusive income growth we outline how new technology is transforming the

Australian economy, workplace, education system and community. Automation

and AI will be disruptive, just as other technology adoptions have been disruptive

in the past. While some jobs will be lost and others created, all jobs will change.

As automation technologies integrate into the workforce, the mix of skills

required in all jobs will shift.

However, the extent of the anticipated change is neither unprecedented nor

unmanageable, and the benefits will be lasting. If Australia embraces automation

with an eye to national interests these technologies present an enormous

opportunity to restore momentum to the Australian economy and extend the

nation’s 30-year economic boom in an inclusive way.

McKinsey & Company has been a member of CEDA since 2012.

Bond University

Bond University has listened to our industry partners who told us that there are

new and emerging jobs that require new types of skills not provided by most are

excited about the opportunities provided by rapid transformation. Rather than

being frightened about disappearing or changing jobs, our graduates will be

equipped to ride the wave of change rather than be afraid of it.

While everyone talks about ‘jobs of the future’, Bond University is actively

preparing students for them. Transformation CoLab: Bachelor of Digital

Transformation; Bachelor of Entrepreneurial Transformation; Bachelor of Health

Transformation; and Bachelor of Legal Transformation degrees.

We realised that, if Bond University was to lead the way with forward thinking

programs that will equip our graduates for this world of change, we would need

to employ modern ways of thinking and doing. Our Transformation CoLab will

provide a virtual space that cultivates enduring partnerships between students,

staff, industry and the community. Through working directly with industry

partners in an interdisciplinary setting, the Transformation CoLab creates

initiatives and programs that ensure Bond graduates are sought after by

employers. Working on real problems and learning in authentic work-place

settings are key aspects of our new approach.

Ranked number one in Australia for student experience for the past 13 years,

we are small, premium, innovative, agile and engaged. The launch of our

Transformation CoLab provides a driving force for future innovation and remains

consistent with our unique ethos in the Australian higher education sector.

Bond University was designed by entrepreneurs and visionaries for the next

generation of entrepreneurs and visionaries. 30 years ago we reimagined higher

education as Australia’s first private, not-for-profit, independent university.

Today, we continue to challenge the traditional model for higher education,

driving it into new, forward thinking territory.

EDUCATION … BUT NOT AS WE KNOW IT.
