RUN9 analysis• We could use scaler data and offline analysis data

which are produced by production.– Outputs are LR and UD asymmetries.

Future : upgrade for SMD scaler• Independent operation – Currently ZDC (any?) LL1 needs BB GTM start;

SMD scaler needs to BB GTM start.– It could be independent (GL1 GTM always running)

• Add charge veto and/or ZDC energy information.– Need to consider small AN at beginning of fill.–While very stable at √ s = 200 GeV data.

• Beam orbits– Colliding with finite crossing angle

• Double collision– Check rate dependent (using BBC)

• Background– Check rate dependent (using BG counters)

Yellow LR asymmetry

Residual transverse components are significantly changed during this fill.

CNI measurements were :3/28 20:53 37.4±3.0 %3/29 00:01 37.6±1.9 %3/29 03:00 36.4±3.0 %

Yellow UD asymmetry

Waldo’s comment :Automatic orbit correction was not working in fill 10450.• The horiz orb showed a two clear states, but vert drifted.

Estimation for scaler• Total AN/∆AN 62 : 200 : 500 = 1 : 9 : 42– 62 GeV 1 s / point (5 mins) 3 s / 45 mins.– In addition, BG from charged particles are very high.

• From pythia simulation, only 14% is neutron while ~25-33% for 200 and 500 GeV (with 5 GeV threshold).

* Need to consider polarization, rate.

Possibilities• Use BB FEM out– BB FEM has TDC1 out

put in front– Some of them now are

used for BBC-MPC coin. Scaler.

– Just put all out to scaler• Via logic unit??

• Same as SMD scaler– Hit information is sent via

fiber to LL1.– Scaler will make on BBC

LL1 board same as SMD board

– Current BB LL1 is not re-programable.

– New BB board for multi. collision logic has possibility ??• No decision to make new one
