Drake – Nothing was the same.

The colour scheme of the light blues and the light skies is consistent throughout all of the advertising for the album and the corresponding tour. Making it a patterned and recognizable to the public and fans.

The name of the album is not displayed much, However Drakes name is displayed on the bottom right corner and left corner of both album designs of young Drake and Drake today, exploiting himself and making his name even more of a statement .

The songs on the album displayed on the back are also the track list for the album tour on the poster, showing a direct link that Drake id performing his latest album at the time along with all the other tracks on the album too.

The decision by Drake to release two album covers one of him old and one of him today, shows his optimistic personality and how even as a child he has been motivated by music to achieve his dreams. Again portraying this as a life long ambition, therefore making it a iconic picture on his album and tour poster.

Facing both album covers together, as showed in the tour poster, shows the relationship between the two albums and when put together, the covers face each other, almost telling his fans a story and portraying his journey of looking at himself into the future and being able to achieve what we can infer he has been destine to do from a young age. “Nothing was the same”

the album and tour title again links to the album covers and whole theme of becoming someone, as from the financial situation Drake used to be in has changed massively due to his success, reflecting Drakes journey into the Album cover.

The well known symbol that is related to Drake, the Owl is displayed on the back of the album and also on the top of the album, also in blue to match the colour scheme of the album and the tour posters so that everything links and catches the eye of Drakes fans.

J Cole – Forest Hill Drive.

The front of the album features the artist, J Cole and the name of the album. Its from a different angle allowing the buyers to be draw in. The suttle title makes the artist the stand out more and be the focus.

The back of the album shows the remaining songs on the album and has a sign post for ‘Forest Hill Drive’ relating to the title of the album which seems to be a street. This links to the idea of this street, The stop sign indicates this.

The same idea of the main artist photographed on the roof of a building has continued into the tour poster, however, J Cole is now standing up, suggesting that he is up and ready to perform his concert. Moving the colour scheme into black and white with a slight blur links to the back of the album where the songs are listed in black and white, linking everything together to be more recognizable in the public eye.

The constant repetition of the album name ‘Forest Hill Drive’ suggests how J Cole will be performing that album on his tour, again making a direct link between the album and the tour poster, allowing the public to be more interested as it is more appealing to fans of the album. This album name also links to the graphology features of the name of this road, ‘Forest Hill’ as on the back of the album there are road signs suggesting this along with the idea that J Cole is sitting on a house with this address.

The picture of the min artist and the constant use of his name in the album cover and tour poster allows him to be recognized by his fans, who will be interested in seeing him in concert, and or buying the album.

The front of the tour poster also displays other names that J Cole has worked with, suggesting that there could potentially be others on tour with him, making the public more interested as they may have the opportunity to see other artists.

Back of the tour poster again linking to the album as on the back we see a picture of the back of the house J Cole was sitting on in the front of the album, and now at the back is not, showing the link between the two pictures.

Jessie J – Who you are .The contrast between the colors of black and white to show the differences between the colour of clothing the main artist is wearing and the style of the album cover.

The colour black is the main colour on the front of the album, linking to the artists mise en scene, the background is a very bright white colour, the back is also white with the song lyrics on the back in a black bold font. This may be to represent the purity of Jessie J’s songs. Jessie J is written in gold

over the black and white contrasting colors. Gold represents power and status and therefore by putting her name in gold makes her seem above others. This links to the tour posters as any other important dates and venues where she is performing are also written in gold, making it stand out to the public, catching their eye.

The close up of the artist shows her importance, and easy recognition for fans when buying the CD. The close up is repeated in all the posters to show that she will be playing the album song list and again to get the attention of her intended audience to be more

The layout and design of the cd and tour poster is bold and effective. Immediately it draw attention straight to the main artist and then people automatically know who she is. This ha an underneath audience directed at young females as the main artist is displaying many feminine traits such as a full face of make up, nails done, earrings, hair perfect and very dark eye makeup, almost differing all males from the CD and tour as it shows no male interest or anything that would appeal to males nut would relate to all younger females who use these conventions of a idealistic individuals. Jessie J close up, is a

great way to advertise the newest album related to the tour and allow all of her intended audiences of younger females to be more likely to buy a ticket and attend the concert or buy the CD.
