All Furntech Centres are fully accredited by Irca, an international health and safety auditing firm against OHSAS 18001
Our training facilities are benchmarked internationally by the Tibro Training Centre in Sweden and the University of British Columbia in Canada
Our learning programmes are aligned with the NQF and conform to and, where applicable, exceed the industry standards
Our assessments are conducted within the framework of the NQF and the principles of good assessment
Our trainers are assessed, trained and mentored by highly experienced Swedish and Canadian woodworking experts
We constantly evaluate our performance in order to continuously improve our offerings

Furntech’s Business Technology Incubator (BTI) programme is an economic development tool designed to accelerate the growth and success of entrepreneurial companies in the furniture and wood products sector through an array of business support resources, technical training and production processes.
It is designed to nurture and protect new and existing small businesses by assisting selected entrepreneurs with all aspects of starting up and developing their companies into sustainable business.
Business Technology Incubation (BTI)
The Business Technology Incubation Programme was established to:
contribute to increased economic growth; and reduce unemployment
by providing a protective environment for new and existing small businesses in the furniture and wood work sector for a limited period.
The Purpose of the BTI Programme

manufacturing Facilitate job creation Technology transfer Increase exports Contribute to economic growth
Objectives of BTI
The skills of each incubatee are asssessed against the unit standards / skills programmes / qualification when the individual enters the incubation programme
An integrated skills development programme, linked to the production and marketing plan of the business is developed for each individual
The development programme is implemeted The incubatee is also coached and mentored
towards the National Certificate Qualifications in New Venture Creation.

Established 34 new SMME’s Supported 82 clients Assisted the businesses to create 64 new direct
jobs, 148 indirect jobs and 20 casual jobs Total turn over of R 2,6 million, that is a 31%
growth on previous year > 85% are black-owned SMMEs > 80% of business owners fall into the category of
“youth” > 85% of businesses survive beyond the two year
