I have two clear aims: to design and make furniture of the highest standard, and to provide outstanding customer service and reliability.
Working with my accomplished team of designers, cabinet makers and polishers, I ensure that we remain firmly focused upon those aims at all times.
Flexibility is the key to our success. We enjoy the challange of unusual and distinctive commissions, no matter how big or complicated they may be.

We strive to make the design process both smooth and simple. At Furniture by Martin, design is a highly collaborative process. We always listen carefully to your thoughts, feelings and ideas before using our creative expertise to help you to bring them to life.
Using scale drawings and 3D illustrations, our experienced designers provide you with a clear and detailed vision of every aspect of your commission before it is made.

Once the initial design is complete, we turn our attention to the finer details. We will guide you through our unlimited choice of veneers, oils, lacquers, waxes, stains and painted finishes.
The right hardware and fittings will make your furniture remarkable. We always go the extra mile to find the perfect handle, hinge or accessory.

the workshop
Penn Street Works is set in a rural village in the Chiltern Hills where fine furniture has been made for over 100 years.
Each step, from concept to completion, is carefully carried out in our fully equipped and modern workshop. Everything we use is in-house, including a state of the art polishing shop, so we have complete control over the quality of our work.
