Mr Dixon said the funding for the project would be included in the upcoming Victorian State Budget. “The Victorian Coalition Government is committed to building better learning environments for Victorian students and I’m pleased to announce $3.5 million for Coburg Senior High School to develop the school’s Junior College for their first intake of year 7 students in 2015,” Mr Dixon said. “This is a welcome announcement for the community, that will provide high quality facilities to current and future students and the Coburg community.” Coburg Junior College is accepting Year 7 enrolments for the 2015 school year, and will grow to accept Year 8 and Year 9 enrolments in successive years. Mr Dixon said all Victorian students should have access to the best and most up-to-date school facilities. “This year, the Coalition Government has allocated a record $8.8 billion towards building a better education system for Victorian students,” Mr Dixon said. Mr Ondarchie welcomed the announcement, and thanked the community their commitment to local education. “This investment of $3.5 million will ensure the Coburg Junior School can offer high quality facilities that match the impressive curriculum and learning opportunities on offer for 2015,” Mr Ondarchie said.
