The Community Project Fund provides grants of up to £2,000 to not-for-profit organisations in England, Scotland and Wales for projects or for providing equipment for people in need at the heart of their communities.

The Paul Cottingham Trust is another new charitable trust, registered with the Charity Commission in February 2016. The Trust was founded by Labour peer Lord Michael Cashman CBE in memory of the humanitarian activist Paul Cottingham,

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s mission is to “help people overcome disadvantage and lack of opportunity, so that they can realise their potential and enjoy fulfilling and creative lives”. The Foundation places particular focus on supporting both young people and the arts.

The People’s Trust for Endangered Species

The PTES is an independent environmental charity which addresses the loss of endangered species worldwide. Voluntary conservation organisations, scientific researchers, individuals and consortia may apply for grants between £10,000 and £20,000.

Places of Worship Security Funding Scheme

The £2.4 million Places of Worship: Security Funding Scheme is provided by the Home Office to help places of worship tackle hate crimes against them through the installation of additional security equipment.

Power to Change Community Business Fund

Round 2 of grants scheme to enable locally based and community-led businesses in England increase their social impact

The Sabina Sutherland Charitable Trust

The Sabina Sutherland Charitable Trust was registered with the Charity Commission in August 2015 with the objective of awarding grants to organisations and individuals in the following areas:

o The advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science; o The advancement of environmental protection or improvement; o The prevention or relief of poverty; o The advancement of religion; and o Any other purpose currently recognised as charitable.

Sanctuary Housing Grants up to £1,000 for voluntary, charitable or community groups for projects that benefit Sanctuary Housing Association residents and the communities they live in.

W H Smith

The scheme offers grants of up to £500 to voluntary organisations and schools from the proceeds of the compulsory carrier bag levies across the UK. Grants are awarded every six months to charities, schools and community groups of any size, provided they support UK communities.

The Society for the Assistance of Ladies in Reduced Circumstances

The Society aims to assist women resident in the United Kingdom who are living alone in their own owned or rented home who are in genuine need, irrespective of age or social status.

The South West Interactive Health Care Fund

Grants to help small-scale enterprises develop priority digital healthcare and wellbeing products and services that will benefit local communities in the South West of England

Stop Loan Sharks Community Fund

Funds can be spent on any worthwhile community project that meets the following criteria: Contributes to raising the awareness of the dangers of using loan sharks; Preventing crime and disorder and promoting the stop loan sharks message; Promotes the work of the Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) in communities and; Encourages reporting of loan sharks

Jointly funded with the Baring Foundation, Arts Council England’s (ACE) Celebrating Age grants programme will support cultural spaces and other organisations working collaboratively, in a partnership or as a consortium, to do one or more of the following:

1. Support arts and cultural spaces to be open, positive and welcoming places for older people.

This could involve: o Empowering older people to help shape what is on offer or lead quality activities; o Embedding proven approaches to engaging older people as visitors, audiences, or participants in creative processes (e.g., ambassadors or buddying schemes); o Testing and applying new ways to engage older people; o Commissioning older artists or art that has particular relevance for older people; and/or o Showcasing or curating and celebrating art created by and with older people.

2. Taking arts and culture into places where older people will find it easier to engage.

This could involve, for example: o Residential care settings or sheltered

Activities can last up to three years and they must take place between 1 March 2017 and 31 March 2020. This includes a planning stage of up to six months once the grant is agreed.

The Libraries Fund The Arts Council

The aim of the Grants for the Arts Libraries Fund is to inspire innovative partnerships between local authority public libraries and arts organisations, and encourage library users and those living locally to take part in artistic and cultural activities. Applications can be for between £1,000 and £100,000 and may cover activities lasting up to three years. Applications should support arts activities, i.e. time-limited arts projects with their own artistic aims and outcomes. This includes a wide range of arts activities that support, enhance and enrich public libraries’ core work, and develop libraries’ role as a cultural provider in their communities. Activity must be additional to public libraries’ core work. Work that a library service receives funding through the local authority to deliver can't be grant funded through the scheme. The programme can include funding activities involving any of the art forms that come under the Arts Council’s remit.

The Ben Cohen Foundation

The scheme offers 3 month placements within Pret A Manger, giving individuals from homeless backgrounds and/or with criminal records the same benefits as Pret A Manger employees, together with a mentor, career advice and a reference for future employers. It can lead to a permanent position within Pret or help to provide the confidence and experience to follow a career elsewhere.
