    Heat generation

One of the important effect of electricity is

    heat generation.

    Depends on voltage

    & current.

    11/3011

    Physiological effects

Electricity has an influence to living organisms.

It depends on how much current flow throughthe body.

    12/3012

    Chemical effects

Electricity has a chemical effect as in battery

    charging.

  • 7/29/2019 Fundamentals of Electricity & Electronics Course-2

    13/3013

    Magnetically effect

    Electricity create magnetic field.

There are many applications for this effect.

    14/3014

    Light related effects

Electricity creates light by the flow of electrical

    current.

The two main families of electric light are:

    Incandescent lamps.

    Gas-discharge lamps.

    16

    Induction

Changes in the magnetic flux will induce a

    voltage in a conductor.

This inducted voltage exists only as long as the

    magnetic flux lines are cut.

    17

    Chemical reaction

    Chemical reaction between some active

    materials will generate electricity.

    Battery is an example.

    Electrostatic Charge

Electrostatic is the branch of physics that deals

with the phenomena and properties of

    stationary electric charges.

    Thermo electricity

    Some components generate electricity by

    heat.

    Thermocouples are

    examples.

    21

    Introduction

Magnetism is a force that acts at a distance

and is caused by a magnetic field.

    This force strongly attracts ferromagnetic

materials such as iron, nickel and cobalt

    22

    Introduction

Each magnet is surrounded by a magnetic field

which is strongest at the ends of the magnet.

Each magnet always has two poles which are

    called north and south pole.

    Types of Magnets

There are three types of magnets:

    Natural.

    Man made or Artificial.

    Electromagnet.
