Due to the current situation with COVID-19, we have had to make the decision to cancel all KIDS University camps which were scheduled to begin prior to June 30, 2020.

Though we are hopeful, a decision regarding July camps has not been made at this time. If we are able to offer camps in July, we will only provide one theme camp each week, per age group to reduce the camp size. Please see the next page for camp descriptions.

FREE before and after care Daily 7:45 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Before and after care is ofered at no additional cost. Full-day themed camps run from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

• Campers should be dropped of between 7:45-8:45 a.m.

• Campers must be picked up between 3:45-5:30 p.m.

Cost is $285 per child, per week Complete information for camp registration, including a schedule, parking permit and mandatory health and waiver forms, are available at KIDSU.unr.edu. A $25 cancellation fee will be charged for participant-initiated cancellations made one week or more before the start of camp. No refunds will be given less than one week before the start of camp.

All campers should bring a morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack each day.

Galactic Academy (Grades 2-4) Based on George Lucas’ famous flm franchise, you will become a student at a galactic training academy where you will learn to construct your very own light sword, encounter heroes and villains, and learn the ways of the energy that surrounds all things!

Funky Fun Chemistry (Grades 2-4) Explore the world of chemistry with a funky, fun twist. Tink you can make the biggest volcano and apple eruptions? Use science to make homemade ice cream, then grow geodes and crystal rock candy. Create a giant bubble, then freeze it.

La Aventura Española (Grades 2-4) ¡Hola estudiantes! Tis fun-flled class for Spanish novices will bring language and culture to life. Sample Spanish foods, learn conversation basics and try new phrases each day. ¡Hasta pronto!

CSI: The Science of Justice (Grades 5-8) Delve into real-world forensic science — the application of science to criminal law — to investigate and solve a fctitious murder. You’ll be the detective to process the crime scene, and collect and analyze evidence using tools and scientifc procedures. Ten use the clues to narrow the list of suspects and present your fndings in a fctitious trial to nail the guilty party!

Dungeon Delving (Grades 5-8) Using Dungeons & Dragons as a catalyst, campers will practice teamwork, interpersonal communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving to solve logistical challenges and word problems. We’ll self-publish our adventures to share with our classmates, families and friends!

Health Care Heroes (Grades 5-8) Dream of becoming a doctor, nurse, social worker, dentist, dietitian, physical therapist or emergency medical technician (EMT)? Come explore health careers through experiments, activities and group projects.
