Upon hire, Police Officer Recruits will be required to attend and successfully complete the CA P.O.S.T. police academy which is paid for by the City. Upon completion of the academy, Recruits will be promoted into Police Officers and eligible for the starting salary of $8,207.00 monthly. The Position
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school and completion of 60 college semester hours in police science, public administration, psychology or a related field.
Background: Must be able to pass the background check, which includes the verification of education, employment, military, criminal history, civil litigation, credit history, DMV records and personal history.
Other Requirements: Be a United States citizen or a permanent-resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship
Pass medical and psychological tests and meet vision/color standards. (Vision 20/100 correctable to 20/30)
Possess a current, valid California Driver's License

Applicants who meet all the minimum qualifications and have successfully submitted a complete application packet by the deadline will be invited to participate in a written test tentatively scheduled for the week of 11/5/18. If you have taken the POST Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) written test you can attach your results to your application and you are not required to participate in the written test. Candidates who have passed the written examination will be invited to the Physical Ability Exam scheduled for 12/8/18. All participants of the physical ability exam will receive their results immediately after the exam. Candidates who pass the physical ability exam will be invited to the First Round of Interviews tentatively scheduled for
12/9/18 through 12/12/18.
