What is HMI?

A microprocessor controlled fueling system (Type III, IV, etc.) can be set up to include a user interface terminal called Human Machine Interface (HMI). HMI consists of a simple desktop computer and monitor that links to the system’s microprocessor to allow processed data to be viewed by the human operator. It displays graphics and screens of system processes and alarms.

HMI terminals are an affective way to monitor fuel system processes from a remote location, such as a Resource Control Center (RCC) or Liquid Fuels Maintenance (LFM) shop. By doing this, we can incorporate vital warnings and alerts about the system as it operates, so users and maintainers can respond to problems and prevent damage, spills, and mishaps when something goes wrong. The warning screens also incorporate a soft audio alarm similar to when you leave your keys in your car. This theory provides more confidence and safety when the fuel system is unmanned by giving oversight to a 24-hour control center. Even if the control center is not manned, a simple phone dialer can be incorporated to phone one or more numbers and alert persons about any of the alarm conditions for further safety.

SEMPER offers many different packages to outfit your existing fueling system with HMI and all the safety features that come with it.

Why HMI?

Today’s commercial and military fuels facility operator and maintainer community is becoming less and less. Either by being multi-tasked, deployed, or simply eliminated to save manning costs. HMI retains the operating safety margin of the vulnerable and expensive fueling system by allowing monitoring and oversight by a control center or other entity. It gives leadership and management peace of mind and can save thousands of dollars in mishap prevention and even save lives.

HMI Possibilities:

The features on the following page can also be installed into existing HMI-equipped systems where applicable. Or, if your system is a relay-type system, SEMPER can convert it to PLC, so you can take advantage of HMI. SEMPER provides all hardware, software, training, and support for every system it sells. Consult us directly and we will assess your system and determine exactly what is needed for your particular application.

Why SEMPER?

The creation of the SEMPERpartnership brought militaryveterans and fueling systemexperts together to provide acomplete and comprehensiveview point and capability tofueling system innovation andmaintenance. It conceivedideas that are desperatelyneeded into today’s fuelingindustry, whether commercialor military. By combining amainstream supplier and system controls company as well veteran operator and maintainer, the customer gets the most qualified and certified service available.

“Wow! This gives peace of mind knowing that something is watching our expensive fuel system when no one is around”
