FT-FTX Series Optical Transmitter

FT-FTX series laser transmitter is designed according to GY/T 143-2000 "CATV system transmitter and receiver network technology condition and measurement method" standard. It is specially designed for CATV optical fiber transmission system, and is used to transmit analog electrical signals. It uses the standard 19 inch rack mounting design, AC220V, 50Hz to 110V AC, 60 Hz, 50Hz power supply, the only input signal is the RF signal to be transmitted.

• High quality and high linearity DFB laser module. • The local RF insertion port has high isolation. • With RF input detection port. • Unique predistortion circuit ensures the excellent link performance. • Excellent APC (automatic power control), ATC (automatic temperature control) function, to ensure the

stability of laser output power and long life of the laser work. • High quality RF excitation circuit, low RF excitation power requirements. • High quality RF channel AGC control circuit, can adapt to 72~82 dBuV (59 channel loading) wide

range RF input signal. • High quality plug-in switch power supply, wide range of voltage adaptation, support dual power hot

backup. • Perfect protection circuit (startup delay, work parameter alarm, RF excitation too high, low shutdown

alarm). • The perfect LCD display control and RJ45 network management status monitoring interface, built-in

network management unit, support SNMP network management, can be convenient for local computer monitoring.

• The excellent cooling design of the whole machine ensures the long term reliability of the equipment.

Installation Steps 1. Install and power supply connection TFT1000M series transmitter is standard 19 inch rack mounting structure, 1.75 inches high, natural cooling mode. The temperature of the working environment is from 0 to 50 degrees, and 1.75 inches of space should be left up and above for each transmitter. The nominal power supply is 110V AC, 60 Hz, and the power line is single-phase three wire to ensure reliable grounding of the chassis. In order to improve the working conditions of the equipment, improve the reliability and prolong the service life of the equipment, it is recommended to install it in the air conditioning room at constant temperature of 25 degrees. Before connecting the power supply line, make sure that the power switch on the back panel is placed in the "O" position, and check the power supply should be nominal to 110V AC, 60Hz. Because the device has excellent switching power supply, it can work normally in the range of power supply voltage to 110V AC + 10%. 2. Optical fiber and RF connection A. optical fiber connection 1) clean all fiber connections and flanges. 2) specific cleaning steps: First, remove the dust cover on the optical fiber connector SC/APC and clean the end face of the SC/APC head with clean anhydrous alcohol cotton ball. Remove the SC/APC on the panel and remove the dust cover of the flange. (3) use compressed air to clean the SC/APC on the machine to connect the flange. (4) if there is no compressed air available, you can also use special sliver to clean the SC/APC connecting flange on the machine. B.RF signal connection 1) check if the RF input signal is 72~82 dBuV (when the 59 channel is loaded). 2) connect the RF signal to the F connector on the back panel of the machine. 3. RF input signal requirements 1) the transmitter's nominal radio frequency input signal is loaded on 59 channels, and the level of each channel is 72~82 dBuV. In order to get the ideal transmission flat characteristic, it is suggested that the level difference between the transmitted signals will be within 0.5dB. 2) especially when the 59 channel channel is loaded, the RF input level of each channel is not more than 86dBuV, that is, the total power of the signal loaded by the RF input port should not exceed the 104dBuV, otherwise the laser may be damaged. 3) there is a slight difference in the RF excitation level required by different lasers, and the excitation level in the AGC mode at the factory has been adjusted to the best. The front panel detection port is the -20dB detection port for the above excitation level. 4) before the RF signal is added to the RF input port of the laser transmitter, the excitation signal level is carefully adjusted by using the spectrum meter or the radio frequency level meter to achieve the RF input level of 72~82 dBuV per channel.

Note: the above RF level is the level when the channel is loaded on the 59 channel. When it is actually used, the number of channels loaded may change, and the total laser modulation system is constant. In order to ensure that the total power of the excited signal loaded to the laser is constant, the RF level requirements of each channel will also change, and the specific changes are made. The corresponding relationship is shown below: this means the number of different loading channels, corresponding to the different RF levels per channel, but our device is always able to maintain at least the input level of 10dB, and the total modulation system of the laser is constant.

4. Start work After the above preparatory work is completed, the electricity detection can be carried out. The appropriate radio frequency signal is added to the RF input port of the laser transmitter first, and the optical power output of the laser transmitter is connected to the input port of the optical power meter with a suitable optical fiber jump line. Plug in the power outlet, place the corresponding power switch in the "I" position, the front panel LCD starts to work, the status indicator lights brighten, and the transmitter enters the working state. The output power of the laser transmitter measured by the optical power meter should be equal to or greater than its nominal output power. The LCD status display of the front panel can also indicate various working parameters of the laser transmitter.

C. Laser Status Press ◎ in main menu #1 RFi (input RF level): XXX dBuV, indicating the RF input signal level of the current transmitter, there are two display modes: Single (single channel, based on the number of loaded channels, default for 59 channel channels) and Total (total power, total power of all signals in the downstream channel). In AGC mode, the input signal is controlled at the total power of 90~100dBuV (about 72~82dBuV / CH @ 59CHs). When the total power of the input signal is higher than 104 dBuV (86dBuV / CH @ 59CHs) or below 86 dBuV (68dBuV / CH @ @), the alarm is shown as a (alarm), and the indicator is turned to red. When the total power of the input signal is higher than 107dBuV (89dBuV / CH @ 59CHs), the alarm shows Alar (alarm), the indicator light becomes red and the internal microprocessor will cut off the RF excitation of the laser at the same time. In MGC mode, input alarm and display status are in the same way as AGC mode.
