FRUZU band Profile Delhi’s best funk,rock & alternative band
Genre: Funk/Rock/Alternative Location: New Delhi “Fruzu" is an eclectic four piece band exploring the funk, lyrical rap & rock inspiredgenres of music. The band comprises of Shubhanshu Singh on lead guitars, Pragnya Wakhlu on vocals and rhythm guitar , Manoj Mavely on Drums and Sonic Shori on the bass. Each member of Fruzu is well known on the music performance circuit . Fruzu’s sound is upbeat and fresh. Apart from playing originals, Fruzu also covers funk, rock & alternative covers by artists such as RHCP, Led Zepplin, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power etc. The band played at the YouforUttarakhand concert at Bluefrog,Delhi in association with MTV ACT to raise funds for the Uttarakhand victims. They have also performed at the Celeste Music Festival ,Mussourie, The New Delhi Palate Festival , Play for a Cause festival & at several local pubs and venues. Fruzu is know for getting the audience up and dancing on it’s feet at it’s concerts.
About the band
Pragnya Wakhlu is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist & front-‐woman of the band. Known for her powerful vocals and deep lyrics, Pragnya has been performing professionally in India & abroad since 2008. She was awarded the 3rd place for the "Best female Vocalist" at the South-‐East Asian Indiego Music awards & nominated twice for the Jack Daniels Music Awards (2010,2011). Pragnya’s debut solo album "Journey To the Sun” was nominated for the GIMA awards for “Best Pop Album” & “Best music Debut” .Her debut music video “Rise” premiered on Vh1 India Rules & MTV Roots in 2012.

A shy guy by nature, Shubhanshu prefers letting his guitar do the talking. Storming onto music scene nearly a decade ago, Shubhanshu has been widely recognized for his stunning playing. He started playing guitar at the age of 13 and his melodic and technical approach never fails to leave the hardest of critics spellbound . Manoj Mavely is the first ever drummer from the Indian sub-‐ continent to be awarded a $28,000 Scholarship to study at the world renowned Berklee College of Music, Boston. Manoj performs in contemporary Afro-‐Cuban, Jazz, Funk, Rock and Brazilian styles and has played extensively with Chicago based Jazzman Tyris Washington amongst many others. An exceptionally consummate player, his versatility is evident as he can play everything from jazz to pop to speed metal. Manoj who is director at the MusicTek-‐ School Of Performing Arts in Gurgaon, is also highly regarded for his unique concepts in developing the “drummer’s mind” .

Bass duties are with Sonic Shori who is a student of Grammy-‐nominated Greek-‐American musician Panagiotis Andreou. He has comprehensive stage experience having collaborated with musicians coming from different genres including classical, fusion, funk and metal. His playing combines complexity with cohesion, playing melodies with dexterity, musicality and tenacity. Sonic has been collaborating with many bands in Delhi (Kaash,Antariksh, Trizya ,Adil & Vasundhara) and across India over the last 5 years.
