Welcome to your EED Internship course! You have been enrolled and given a start and end date and will begin logging your internship hours on the start date of this course. One week prior to your start date, you will have access to your course syllabus, lessons, and requirements for video and written assignments in RioLearn.
In addition to gaining access to your course in RioLearn, you will receive an email from TALENT video; the video platform you will use to upload your videos. After receiving that email, you will click the provided link and set up your account. You are required to begin recording and submitting videos first week of your internship. You are encouraged to become familiar with this platform because you will only be granted access for a limited time during the internship (weeks 1-5); there will be no extensions for video submissions.
Instructions for uploading, submitting, and using TALENT are included below.

Your instructor will view you videos and provide feedback through Torsh Talent. Points will also be recorded in your RioLearn grade book.
Video Interview/Demonstration Assignments
How to Submit Videos
These assignments will be uploaded and submitted through the Video Platform for Classroom Teaching. Complete the registration for the video platform that were emailed to you previously. Instructions for uploading, sharing, and navigating through the video platform were also emailed to you. Be sure to review those instructions and become familiar with the platform so you are prepared to upload videos the first week of your internship course.
Length of Videos
For this course, you will be required to submit video assignments each week that demonstrate your competence and practice in an early childhood setting. These assignments will be uploaded and submitted through an established video platform specifically for teaching and coaching
in the classroom (platform instructions and website are emailed by your instructor). Each video should include the required criteria for maximum point value. This can be usually accomplished within 10 minutes. The video assignments will be a combination of:
1. Demonstrations: Digital recordings of you demonstrating specific criteria indicated for each assignment in the classroom interacting and instruction children.

2. Interview style: Digital recording of you discussing your strategies, methods, and/or examples to implement the specified criteria
OR
3. Written Response: Written response to the assignment criteria and submitted to your instructor through RioLearn.
*The required method video format completion is given with each assignment description. The formats are not optional; videos must be recorded using listed format.
Written Response Assignment Submission
Some lesson assignments require a written narrative that includes responses to the criteria outlined in the lesson. Your responses to these assignments will be submitted through the assessment windows in RioLearn.
Assignment Due Dates
The assignment due date schedule is outlined in your RioLearn course. Assignments are due weekly. You will be granted access to the video platform for a limited time during the internship course, approximately one week prior to the start of your course through week 5 of the course. It is imperative that you follow the assignment due date and submission schedule found in RioLearn You WILL NOT be allowed any extensions for video assignments and points for videos not received will be recorded as zero.
The assignment due dates correspond with the weekly lessons and are due each Saturday. There may be some weeks that two assignments are due and some weeks with only one assignment due. If the assignment is included in that week’s lesson, it is due that same week.

Internship Video Assignments
You will be evaluated on your internship practicum from the videos you submit throughout this course. In each lesson, you will record specific criteria found in the Video Assignment Instructions using an audio/visual digital recording device. Each digital video recording will be uploaded to Torsh Talent. You can do this using a variety of devices that you can record with AND upload to a computer, including, but not limited to:
Smartphone/iPhone
Digital Camera
Tablet/iPod
Computer/laptop
TALENT offers a free app for Apple or Android devices called T Uploader by Torsh, Inc. You can record and upload videos directly from your phone/tablet/device using this app.
STEP 1: Complete Registration to TALENT using the link emailed to you
from TALENT. DO NOT subscribe on your own prior to receiving that email
or you will have to pay for your subscription. You must have the link
provided in the email from TALENT.
STEP 2: RECORD Videos
Review the required criteria for the video assignment. Record yourself using the required
format (interview or demonstration) using your preferred recording device (camera,
computer camera, phone, tablet, device). Connect your device to a computer using a
USB cable and transfer videos to upload.
App users:
1. Open app and record videos directly in app. When finished the video will
automatically be uploaded to your TALENT account. You may login to your TALENT
account later and review/edit/delete videos.
OR
2. Record video on phone/tablet/device with device camera. Open app and import video
from your camera.

STEP 3: UPLOAD Videos
PC/MAC Uploads
1. Login to TALENT account from your PC/MAC
2. Click on at the top of your screen
3. Choose File from your computer
files and click “open”, the
video should
automatically upload to
your video library
4. View your video library and
change the name of the video to meet the labeling criteria (if
not already named) by clicking the pencil icon next to the
video. (lastname.firstname.videonumber)
5. You MUST label your video as indicated above!! Otherwise
your instructor will not be able to locate your video and you
will receive zero points.
6. Share video with instructor
APP USERS
RECORDING AND UPLOADING WITH APP
1. Open app and record videos directly in app. When finished the video will
automatically be uploaded to your TALENT account (IF YOU ARE CONNECTED
TO THE INTERNET/WI-FI). You may login to your TALENT account later and
review/edit/delete/share videos.
UPLOADING PREVIOUSLY RECORDED VIDEOS FROM DEVICE
1. Open app and import previously recorded video from device camera.
2. Import (allow app to access photos/camera
3. Login from device using email and password for TALENT, click on “Import”
4. Select a video and “choose”. Your video will compress and be uploaded to your
account.
5. Login to your account and share your video with your instructor
STEP 4: SHARE Videos
First Option to Share: 1. Click the “share” icon on the video from your video library
2. Begin typing in the email address used for this course in the
first box; it should populate to avoid misspellings

3. Change default settings to “Can
duplicate, reshare, and add notes
and documents” in the drop down
menu (This should only need to be
done with the first video you
share).
4. Add notes or messages for your
instructor and click Share and
Notify
Another Option; or to Attach Documents
1. Click on video, select the tab “supporting documents”
and attach any required documents (not required for this
course)
2. To share, click or the ‘share’ icon below the
video and type in instructor’s email address in first box.
STEP 5: Review Feedback 1. Click on the review tab under your video to review the observation scoring tool and
points awarded for the video.
2. Feedback is also tracked on the right side of the video in the window.

content or video criteria.**
