Has it finally turned to Fall?
What a glorious week of weather we have had!
A reminder that Monday, October 9th is a school holiday - Ihope you enjoy the long weekend! Additionally, WINTERUNIFORM begins on Tuesday, October 10th.
The sign-up to assist with Adoration in the school chapel isbelow. We always appreciate adult assistance with ensuring aconstant presence in the chapel throughout the day.
It is hard to believe that the end of the 1st Quarter is quicklyapproaching (October 26th). Now would be a wonderful time tocheck the Parent Portal and work with your child on anyassignments that are still missing to teachers. The portal willclose on Friday, October 20th in preparation of report carddistribution.
Conference days are scheduled for November 9th and 10th. Wewill have a half day on 11/9 with conferences in the afternoonand a full day of conferences on 11/10. All families, prek - 8thgrade, are asked to sign-up for a conference time. Be on thelook out for a Sign-Up Genius towards the end of October.
The annual Book Fair begins Sunday, October 15th andextends through the week to Friday, October 20th. This is agreat way to support the library collection!
We will celebrate Spirit Week at Holy Spirit beginningMonday, October 23rd. This is a fun-filled super week with lotsof activities and dress-up days for the students. Be on thelookout for information from the Student Council.
I tend to feel as though once we hit the month of October I needto take a deep breath because in a blink of an eye it will beDecember! This year is no exception as we have a tremendousnumber of wonderful events for students and families over thenext three months. Be sure to keep an eye on the schoolcalendar and watch for announcements.

Formation in Christian Chastity ClassesPlease Read!
The Diocesan mandated Formation in Christian ChastityProgram lessons will be taught in grades 1-8 during the weekof October 16th. Information regarding this program may befound on the Family Information page in Power Learning underthe "Formation in Christian Chastity" tab. There is a link therethat will take you to the Diocesan site where course materialsare housed. This is an opt-out program. If you wish to nothave your child participate, you must complete the opt-outform that is provided in Power Learning; the form is alsoprovided below in the "Family Folder" section.
Additionally, the middle school students have the opportunityto participate in the Diocesan approved Human Growth andSexuality classes which begin on Thursday, October 19th. This is an opt-in program. If you wish to have your childparticipate, you must complete the opt-in form and return byOctober 16th. There is an information meeting for parents
regarding the Human Growth & Sexuality program onWednesday, October 11th at 7:00 pm in the school library. Theopt-in form is available both in Power Learning and below inthe "Family Folder" section.

Adoration
We will have Adoration in the school chapel on Tuesday, October 10th andare seeking parents to assist us in ensuring that the chapel is never leftunattended while the classes transition in and out throughout the day.
A reminder that volunteers must be Child Protection Compliant.

Flag Retirement Ceremony
November 9, 20178:30 am
Members of the Holy Spirit Parish Knights ofColumbus will perform a flag retirement
ceremony for our students so they may learnhow to retire our U.S. flag with honor.
If you have flags in your own homes in needof retirement there is a box in the school
lobby where they may be placed.
