A big thank you to all of the staff and students, who worked solidly throughout the last few weeks to create a wonderful night. This is a culmination of the entire year, and we hope you enjoyed looking through your children’s pieces of work displayed throughout the hall on the night. Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered to assist with tasks prior to and throughout the night, in particular Noni Mader and Gwenda Lines for cooking the BBQ. Congratulations to Leanne McKinnon for being presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award for her commitment to reading with the ELA students, contributing to Governing Council for many years and her significant commitment to catering for our Riverlinx Camps. We are so fortunate to have Leanne as part of our wonderful school community along with many other supportive families. At times such as these, I am lucky enough to have some moments to reflect on the year; remembering the successes, achievements, targets, goals, upgrades and the overcoming of adversity that we have tirelessly focused on throughout the school, in the interests of ensuring a leading education for our students. This year has been very positive, not without its challenges at times; however, as a community we have worked solidly to ensure that all students engage in learning, achieve success, and grow as young people. This is evident in our magnificent Year 7 speeches on Monday night. Bethany, Alexis, Trent, William, Alana and Grace are all maturing as young community citizens, and have a well-rounded appreciation for all aspects of their schooling at Kingston-on-Murray Primary School, as evidenced through their words on the night. They are ready to take their next step in their educational journey, and we are immensely proud of them and know they will represent our school with pride. This leads me to share our fantastic day yesterday at Memorial Drive Clay Courts in Adelaide with Cooper, Jarrod, Wesley, Rylee, Taelor, Riley, Sameika, Kane and Laila competing in the Hot Shots State Country Final where we finished 5th overall. This event was a true testament to our students and parents with the End of Year Concert the night before, a very early start on Tuesday and a big day of Tennis in Adelaide. Thank you to all families for your commitment to the children and to our school, it is very much appreciated by all of the staff and students. Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER)

Alana, Alexis, William, Grace, Bethany and Trent, our Year 7 students, are looking forward very much to spending the next week with the other Year 7 students from the Loxton North, Moorook and Loxton Primary Schools as well as St Alberts and Loxton Lutheran Schools. Alana, Alexis, William, Grace, Bethany and Trent will soon be undertaking an education tour of the national capital. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of education programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy. The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $30.00 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion Have a great time Alana, Alexis, William, Grace, Bethany and Trent

and Mr Lawson from all of us at Kingston-on-Murray Primary School
