Our tournament season is in full swing and July will have its fair
share of fun events for you to participate in. We have the NEW
Couples Club Championship, the Men’s Match Play, and a Couples
Mixer. What was once an empty month for events, we are now
trying to keep you active and keep giving you options in July.
Please take a moment and look through our Newsletter as it has
dates and details of events that are upcoming. It can save you a
call to the Pro Shop.

TIP OF THE MONTH:
Every good golfer
knows that power
comes from the body,
not the arms. To
learn to power the
club with your body
instead of your arms
and hands, put the
club behind the ball
at address, with your
body in a dead-stop
position. Without
taking a backswing,
try to drag the ball
into the air. If you're
a player who uses his
or her hands to con-
trol the club, you'll
probably struggle at
first. However, you'll
quickly find that once
you start moving the
club with your body,
you'll begin to get the
ball in the air more
consistently. This
helps you turn fully
through the ball on
the downswing.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
Couples Mixers: 5/18, 6/18, 7/6, 8/3 (New!) The Couples Mixers will be held on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and will be contested over 9 holes. The format will be a Captains Choice and we will have a Gross winning team and a Net winning team. You may sign up as a couple or as a team of two couples. We will alternate golf courses and offer a food option by reservation after the event is complete. We will need to know who will be going to the restaurant after play so we can have a table ready for your arrival. The first event is at Apple Valley and dinner will be at Pinnacle Southern Kitch-en. This is a great way for you and your spouse to sign up and play golf with your friends or meet some new people within the resort. This is a new series of events for the resort and we hope to see it have some great participation for years to come. 5/18 Apple Valley - Pinnacle 6/15 Bald Mountain - Legends 7/6 Apple Valley - Pinnacle 8/3 Bald Mountain - Legends $5 cash entry per person

Format: 2 Man Teams will play 3 formats within an
18 hole round. Holes 1-6 will be Best Ball, Holes 7-
12 will be Captains Choice, Holes 13-18 will be Mod.
Alternate Shot
All teams will be flighted by their team handicap
combined. There will be an Overall Gross Champi-
on and an Overall Net Champion. There will also be
winners within each flight for Gross and Net.
Tees: White Tees for 55 and under
Yellow Tees for 56 and older
Your partner may play from a
different set of tees than you
Entry Fee is $25 a player.
Fee covers trophies and prizes
Does not include your golf fees for each day.

July 15th
New for 2018 we will offer a
chance to have couples come
together and compete for a club
championship. You and your
spouse will compete in an 18 hole
best ball event to find out who
our Gross and Net champions
will be. It will be designed to
have a social side will a small dose of competition. Please come
out and support our first event like this and don’t be afraid to
embrace a little competition amongst friends.
COUPLES CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

4th of July Golf Cart Parade—4:00 p.m.
Every year on July 4th our awesome
homeowners and guests come together to
participate in our Golf Cart Parade. Each
year we have seen the parade line get
longer and longer. It is a tremendous
amount of fun to see all of the creations
riding down the road and as we turn to go
down the beach to show off our carts, we
all take a sense of pride in our work. If you would like to enter your golf cart
in the parade please contact the Bald Mountain Golf Shop and sign up to let
us know you are coming. There is no entry fee and the prizes are not going to
change your families future wealth, but you will have tons of fun!
The Men’s Invitational was held on June 8th—10th here at the resort and a
great time was had by all. The weather cooperated, the food was great, and
the golf was even better! Our Moonshine theme was a hit. Our winners re-
ceived a moonshine jug and their names will forever be kept on our Copper
Moonshine still located in our Pro Shop.

100% Handicap Entry Fee $25
Dates: The event will be played between the dates of July 2nd and August 12th
Matches will be an 18 hole match, with strokes. Players will be seeded after they
sign up. Seeding will be determined by Handicap. Play will be from the Yellow
Tees. If a player chooses to play from the White Tees they will receive their White
Tee handicap plus the difference in the course rating.
1st ROUND Apple Valley Played between July 2nd – July 15th
2nd ROUND Bald Mountain Played between July 16th – 29th
3rd ROUND Apple Valley Played between July 30th – August 5th
4th ROUND Bald Mountain Played between August 6th – August 12th
* If the two competitors cannot agree on a date to play their match, a coin toss will
determine the winner.
