From The Bridge

Dear Members,

MYC is in high season! Our programs have started, the kids are swimming and sailing,

the anglers are fishing, the sailors are competing, the events and bands are rocking,

our hard working staff is in high gear in every corner of our Club and it’s great to be a

part of it all!

There is so much to do and to look forward to….the kids’ events over at the JYC, our

upcoming Opti Regatta, Saturday morning swim meets and multiple planned events

for our members and guests. We have a fun-filled summer schedule for all to enjoy.

Look for weekly e-blasts for all of the upcoming happenings!

It’s great to see so many people enjoying the pool upgrades and the palm trees. We

can all relish a safe and crystal clear environment this season. Speaking of safety, we all love our children.

Please slow down in the parking lot and abide by the traffic flow signs. Please keep it under 5 mph. Also, as a

reminder, there is to be no bare feet, except on the pool sundeck. No swimwear without coverups at the res-

taurant and bar. Although we can be somewhat casual at our events, appropriate attire must be worn. Please,

no children under 21 in our Commodore’s Lounge without a parent or guardian. Finally, PLEASE sign in all

guests upon entering the Clubhouse. It’s the law, mandated by the State Liquor Commission. Remember to

always be courteous to our staff and your server. They work very hard to do their best and they deserve the

same respect they give to you. Okay, enough “Mean Dad” (rules are only in place to have a safe and enjoyable

environment for all members and staff).

One last note, many thanks go out to “Da Boys” in the kitchen for Guest Chef Pasta Night. It was spectacular!

2019 MYC Opti Regatta

The MYC Opti Regatta is scheduled for Wednesday, July

24th. We anticipate well over 100 boats and children

competing on three race courses. To run this event, we

need LOTS of volunteers, working on land and on the wa-

ter. We also need a couple of power boats with large

cockpits for Race Committee boats and several smaller

boats to act as mark boats. We will pair up new volun-

teers with those with experience, so don’t worry if you

haven’t participated before. If you can take some time off

to help with this event, please contact Fleet Captain Bob
