Visit PEELinc.com for details. From The Board On January 4th, your Board elected officers for 2010 at its regularly scheduled first Monday of the month meeting at the Law Offices of Daughtry & Jordan on El Camino. Doug Quillen will serve as president, Susan Bobrick, vice president, Melinda Kokkinis, treasurer, Tricia Totten, secretary and David Leboe, director-at- large. The Board is requesting all residents to contact Houston City Council Member, Mike Sullivan, to express your opinion on the widening of Clear Lake City Boulevard to four lanes through Pine Brook and the residential development of the 411 acres at CLC and El Dorado Boulevards. The Board, after reading in the Citizen Council Member Sullivan was supporting widening CLC Blvd to four lanes through Pine Brook, notified the Councilman that Pine Brook’s residents had historically opposed the widening of the Blvd due to safety concerns for our children and residents. We requested he not actively promote the widening project and informed him that the City as recently as two years ago had advised us there were no plans to widen the Blvd. His response was less than favorable. Regarding the 411-acre development at the intersection of CLC Blvd & El Dorado, Fidelis Reality Partners, the developers, are hopeful an agreement can be reached with ExxonMobil to resolve their lawsuit. The three Clear Lake communities most affected by the development have been working with the developers to achieve a balanced and esthetically pleasing residential and commercial development. An agreement has been reached with the CLC Water Authority for flood control and development. A preliminary agreement has been reached with the City of Houston to relocate the fire station site from the West corner of the intersection of El Dorado Extended to the East corner. This is a simple land swap requested by Pine Brook to allow the land adjacent to our community to be developed as residential property. The commercial center would then be developed on the West side of the extended street; however, Council Member Sullivan has expressed opposition to the land exchange without stating a reason. For these two reasons the Board is requesting residents contact Council Member Sullivan and let him know what you think on these two issues affecting our community. The Councilman may be contacted at 17629 El Camino Real # 415, Houston, TX 77058 on Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm or by calling 832-393-3008 or by email: [email protected] Maintenance Update from the Board of Directors POOL UPDATE: The pool will be getting a new look. The Board approved a bid by Sweetwater Pools to resurface the pool and install a new fiberglass diving board. New ceiling fans will be installed in the Pavilion and a new emergency 911 telephone will be installed near the front entry. The Orcas’ are planning to install new dive platforms for their swim meets, as well. DEAD TREES REMOVED: Bay Area Trees has removed more than 70 trees damaged by Hurricane Ike or killed by Pine Beatles. Residents are encouraged to notify CIA Services if additional dead trees are observed in the community. TRUGREEN PERFORMANCE: Due to performance issues and concerns regarding our grounds maintenance company, CIA Services will be using a checklist to identify any deficiencies in contract execution. TENNIS COURT WINDSCREENS: New Tennis Courts windscreens have been purchased and will be installed ASAP.
