. . . . . . . From School to Home
2018 Term 2 Week 4
Dear Parents
Every week, the children will go through this routine of temperate taking.
The readings are recorded and compiled.
The collected data gives us an indication of each child’s average body temperature
and this is used when there is a need to determine if the child is running a temperature.
The children are always curious about this cool gadget with lights beaming onto their foreheads….…
See how they tried using the thermometer on their friends. !

Fun & Movement
Mass Activity
To help the children understand the concept of exchanging places, we played a mini game.
The children formed a big circle with a small group in the centre.
Those in the centre will run to another friend, swapping places with them.
The friend chosen will then run to the centre before the next round begins.
301 Upper Paya Lebar Road S(534934) Tel:6287 1209 Fax:6287 7980 Page 10
Now… for the actual game of ‘Blow Wind, Blow’
A category or description will be given to the children.
Those who fall under the category will have to leave their positions and change places!
For example:
T: “Blow wind, blow!”
C: “Blow what?”
T: “Blow away all the Joy & Peace girls!”
We were pleasantly surprised when we said “Blow everyone!”,
the children were able to respond, exchange places and form a circle as they sat down!
Great job!

Love 1 & 2
The Love children learned some object manipulation skills as they bounce the balls!
The Love 1 children began by practising their rolling skills first, familiarising themselves with the ball.
301 Upper Paya Lebar Road S(534934) Tel:6287 1209 Fax:6287 7980 Page 12
After which, a row of chairs was placed in front of them.
They then attempt to bounce the ball towards the chairs.
As some were just beginning to learn the skill, a cross was marked out on the floor
and the children were tasked to aim the ball to the cross, watching the ball bounce up as it hits the ground.
The Love 2 children were exposed to the skill of catching as well.
Facing a partner, the children learn to bounce the ball to their friend
and try catch the ball as it bounced towards them.

Modified Gameplay:
In order to win the game, one must capture the other team's flag and bring it back to their own base.
But if they get tagged by the opponent, they have to return back to their home base and start again.
The Joy children played 4 at a time (2 on each team).
It was really interesting to see how each team works together!
Some would split their roles into an attacker and a defender; while others simply attack!
301 Upper Paya Lebar Road S(534934) Tel:6287 1209 Fax:6287 7980 Page 14
The defenders for the Peace class were seated on chairs around the arena.
The defenders had to position themselves well and stretch their arms to tag their opponent!
