FOR: Georgia and Skye. I keep in touch with them as they are very busy with university studies but they see each other also and support each other and will be back to Rotary at the end of the Uni. year.

RYLA – seeking 18-25 year old to attend in December. All club members are encouraged to put forward names.

My eldest son Owen has been very unwell in recent weeks but is returning to Melbourne tomorrow so hopefully I will be able to resume our dinner meetings again soon. Many thanks again to the club for the beautiful flowers sent recently. Very much appreciated by us both. Lynne

Australian Rotary Health – Lift the Lid on mental illness campaign - starts Friday 7 October

The aim of our campaign is to raise funds from the general public to significantly increase our research into mental illness prevention. There is no greater problem currently facing our society and, if we are to help future generations of young Australians, we need to do something now. There are several fine organisations which treat and support those with mental health issues … but we want to look ahead and learn through research how to prevent these illnesses happening."

ROTARY CLUB OF BENDIGO STRATHDALE – MEC PROJECT Our Rotary Club has engaged Gina Hogan to perform at The Capital on Sunday the 31st of July 2016 at 2.00pm. Gina is bringing her show ‘Women of the 60’s’ to Bendigo as a fundraising venture for The MEC PROJECT.

Tickets are available from The Capital costing $27.00 with $22.00 Concession.

Gina has performed both in Australia and across the world in some of the most loved theatre productions of our time, as well as performing her own shows across the country. Her first professional role was in the musical Scrooge at Melbourne’s Princess Theatre, which started her love affair with the grand theatre. Gina went on to perform in Beauty and the Beast, followed by Mamma Mia! and finally The Witches of Eastwick.

She also has a long association with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit production CATS, beginning with a national tour, Cats - Runaway to the Circus, and then performing through South Korea and Athens, playing the role of Jellylorum/Griddlebone.

For the past five years, Gina has been performing her one woman shows in theatres across the country: The Women of the 60’s, The Belles of Broadway and Night and Day – the Doris and Shirley Show. She has also sung with some of the most successful bands on the corporate circuit and now fronts her own band, The Gina Hogan Band. She is a voiceover artist, has appeared in television commercials and corporate videos, and was a regular artist on Good Morning Australia.

By all accounts those who have seen her perform shows say that she is Sensational!
