Work Readiness Assessment (WRA)
You have ordered some office supplies but their delivery has been delayed and it will take an additional week for them to arrive. Today, the printer that your team uses has run out of toner, one of the items that you ordered.
Take a toner cartridge from another team's storage room and replace it when the toner you ordered arrives
Explain the situation to the other team leader and ask if you can borrow their toner
Tell your team to use other printers until the toner arrives
Tell the last person who used the printer that it is their responsibility to fix the printer
Take a toner cartridge from another team's storage room and do not return it

• “It will help me, of course. In general, it is a positive thing. Because it will give an impression about me. It will help an employer to know me.” (Jordan)
• “It will show them that I am taking the test, I’m trying to develop myself and work hard which helps with the first impression. It will give him the image that I want him to.” (Jordan)

1. Figure out what technology channels are viable first. You can develop the learning opportunity after you’ve identified the technology platform.
2. Leverage the ICT4D buzz. Set realistic expectations with clients and beneficiaries, but don’t forget that enthusiasm can align stakeholders.
3. Incentives do not have to be sustainable. They need to be in place to learn lessons from pilots, but you can scale using other incentives.
4. You can find ICT4D value propositions on the lagging edge. Smartphone penetration is growing globally but feature phones are still more common.
5. Customize existing products when possible. If a vendor has developed a downloadable application that meets some of your specs, consider using it.
