Home learning was becoming a time consuming nightmare!
• Time to create suitable learning activities was ever-increasing
• Marking (particularly in KS2) was time consuming
• Pupils didn’t always buy in and complete tasks set
• Shared electronically yet various copies needed printing
• All in all, a stressful process for all those involved
What we wanted:
• A quick, easy method to set homework
• Ability to differentiate to include all needs - include those working at a mastery level and those requiring additional support
• Marking to be as time efficient - allowing staff to focus on gap analysis and not hours of ticking
• A system that encourages (and possibly rewards children) for completing
• Preferably a non-paper system to avoid copious amounts of printing
Our SIP targets which FrogPlay contributes towards
• Embedding new technology across the school
• Pupils to take more independence in their work
• Diagnostic marking to be used to inform future teaching and allow children to make more than expected progress
Consistency across the school
• (Useful for families with siblings)
• All home learning is set via Frog - mostly FrogPlay but some text uploads on sites
• Everyone issues it on a Friday and expects it in by the following Tues
• Generally, same expectations for amount of work expected and time spent completing task(s)
Opportunity to edit pre-made quizzes!
• (Useful when the quiz has 30 questions which is generally more than we need)
Useful back end - speeds up assessment and gap analysis
• Steve Holt to provide screenshot of matrix grid??
