“I was technically challenged, and I
honestly didn’t even want to learn
it. I thought ‘We’ll just hire the
tech people’.”
Rob F., Omaha, NE
History
The founder created Friendly Computers® home based model from his dorm room while
attending college in 1992.
Upon graduation from college in 1994, the home based model was moved to the family
garage in Las Vegas where it was housed until 1998 when at that time, with the number of
employees they employed and the amount business they were generating, they decided to
move it to a retail center.
2000 was the year of the big decision; that was when they decided to franchise the
concept.
It was an immediate hit; with Entrepreneur Magazine ranking Friendly Computers® #1 in
“Miscellaneous Tech Businesses” on their TWENTY-FOURTH ANNUAL FRANCHISE 500
LIST.
With expansion into new Mobile Technology markets, Friendly Computers® continues to
lead the way in creating additional revenue streams for its franchisees.
What We Do

“It was very overwhelming at first – as everyone knows. Not fully appreciating the Franchise System,
we went to training in Vegas thinking that once we left we were “on our own.” Much to our surprise,
they offered to order our Friendly pens, marketing materials, and even mentioned helping us find things
like our front counter, technician workstations, and outdoor signs. If we had only asked, we would have
saved ourselves hours and hours of frustration! We had no idea that corporate could or would do all of
this with us and for us!”
