FRIDAY REWIND – 24 ENDS IN CHAOS, GREY’S SAYS GOODBYE TO CRISTINA May 16th, 2014 By Jovel Johnson
Welcome to the Friday Rewind. Take a look back (or catch up) on some of your favorite shows (or guilty
pleasures) from Monday to Thursday. Here we go:
Monday
24:Live Another Day (FOX)
“1:00 pm to 2:00 pm”
Jack and Chloe go to the Tavern Yates and his girlfriend Simone were. He finds his body on the floor and realizes
that Simone may have double crossed Yates. Chloe hacks into the CCTV and sees where the girl is headed.
Kate and Eric are interrogating the drug dealers trying to find out why Jack is there. Navarro tells them they need
to stop doing the interrogation because the British Police can’t know they’re doing covert operations on their soil.
Eric tells Kate they need to pull out, but Kate is not deterred. She strikes Basher, knocking him out, and Eric
reluctantly helps her put him in the vehicle.
Jack is on the train Simone is on, but she spots him and cuts herself. As she’s coming off, she acts as if Jack is
trying to kill her. She gets away because Chloe saw a family who looked like hers – her husband and child. She
reveals to Jack that they died in a car accident. Someone was targeting her because she knew what happened
when Jack disappeared. The show stalls a little bit with that little conversation – almost stops it for a while. COME
ON! You guys have a chick to catch! But Jack took time out to comfort and reassure Chloe. “You can’t bring back
the ones you love…” But he makes her know he now NEEDS her help on this.

Mark and Audrey are in a disagreement on how he dealt with her father’s preparation of going before parliament.
He convinces her to talk him out of doing it because his alzheimer’s won’t be good for him in front of parliament
members. But Heller is not backing down.
Simone is back home with mother and brother and apparently a husband. But hubby isn’t too keen on his wife, as
she had to “get really close” with Yates. He’s not too happy about that. But Margo has to pull him aside and tell
him that she had a job to do and he needs to get over it.
“We are fighting a war…”
But that’s the least of his problems, because he’s getting butterflies in the stomach with the plan of sending
missiles from drones in different parts of London.
Jack and Chloe are back at hacking headquarters and Adrian is not pleased. He doesn’t like Jack and reluctantly
helps Jack in finding Margaux and her family.
Kate and Eric bring Basher into enemy territory for him to tell them everything they know about Yates. They
threaten to feed him to the wolves and he sings like a bird (he doesn’t want to die). He tells them he doesn’t know
who Yates was working with but all he knows is he was always talking about someone named Tanner. Navarro is
on board with Kate and Eric going to the embassy to talk to Tanner and see what they can find. Meanwhile, poor
Tanner is being handcuffed and escorted to the embassy.
Jack HAS to get into the embassy, and as usual causes some chaos. (sheknows.com)
Jack is now at the embassy to try to talk to Tanner. But looks like Adrian doctored Jack’s identification for them to
catch him (wow! he REALLY doesn’t like him). However, Jack HAS to get into the embassy and plans a way to
get in… by way of pandemonium. He grabs a policeman’s gun, runs into the protesters, and shoots two people in
the leg, starting chaos. He’s in.
Jack always finds a way to send my blood pressure sky high!
Warehouse 13 (SyFy)
“Cangku Shisi”
Artie and Claudia are trying to find out how Claire disappeared. They find out she’s in Benedict Valda’s
possession. But how could it be? He’s supposed to be dead. She’s under his “spell”. He puts this mind control
contraption on her and that way, she’s under his command. Well, they wanted to find a way to wake Claire safely,
here we go. Ok, not like this, but…yeah.
Turns out that this Benedict is from another dimension and had been in the warehouse all this time – that’s how
he knew about Claire. He took a safety deposit box key belonging to one of the regions. Myka, Pete and Artie get
to the region house and find one of their keepers dead. Under his body though, there’s an artifact that ends up
freezing everything around it, including Artie. They search for the artifact to thaw Artie out.
Looks like Benedict is looking for a buyer for some of the artifacts. As a demonstration, he uses a vinyl record
artifact that immobilizes anyone close to it. But his ultimate goal is to steal the warehouse. They plan to use an
artifact called the Mason hammer to stop Benedict. They track him (and Claire) down in Boston and things aren’t
going well. While Myka, Pete, and Claudia are in danger, Benedict is using an artifact to move the warehouse
piece by piece. He has them trapped somewhere under the building and they figure out their next move. They
manage to escape, though. In their plans to clamp down on Benedict, Artie warns Claudia that Claire may not be
“herself” anymore, she’s under Benedict’s total control. But she reassures him that there’s still a piece of Claire
there and she plans to dig deeper to get to her. Benedict’s next move is China, so they head there to find him.
Benedict is in full control of Claire’s faculties. (spoilertv.com)
They find him and realize he’s creating a Warehouse 14. The artifacts disappearing from 13 are appearing there.
Meanwhile Artie and Jinx are trying to destroy the warehouse’s compass (Benedict is using that to move the
artifacts). They’re having huge problems. Back in China, the three are going through some problems of their own.
Benedict has them trapped, via Claire. But Claudia manages to connect with her on an emotional level (singing a
Garbage song) and it breaks the connection between her and Benedict. They find a way to transfer Claire’s power
in Benedict and with a plan from Pete, the artifacts were returned, and they erased Benedict from this timeline.
Everything is right with the world, with Claire being out of her coma for good, everything is back together. But hold
your horses, something is wrong. The compass is acting up. According to Frederic, Benedict’s actions may have
set certain events in motion.
Uh Oh…

they were singing. A first for The Tonight Show. That’s the same method Young used for his box set album.

“The Six Ungraspables”
Why does each episode start off with, “This is a true story”? Is it?
Anyway, the show starts off with a flashback of Lester who’s trying to buy socks but walks out with a 12 gauge.
The wife wasn’t too keen on this.
“If there’s anybody who would shoot their face off with an unloaded 12 gauge, it would be you.
And she’d be right.
That same 12 gauge is the murder weapon from the triple murder. We are taken back to the events of the crime.
What we didn’t need to see his infected gunshot wound though.
Back in lock up, Lester is sweating like hell because of his infected hand. Not really made better with Mr. Wrench
and Mr. Numbers staring him down. They wanted to know who killed Hess and under duress he gives them the
name. Molly is still trying to convince the chief of her theory of Lester. This time, the theory is just too strong for
him to ignore and he agrees that maybe Molly needs to have a sit down with him.
Gus is still trying to figure out who this Lorne Malvo is. With the help of his daughter, he looks up Malvo’s alter
ego (Pastor Frank Peterson) and finds a lot of fake information about the alias. Nothing on the name Lorne Malvo.
He’s perplexed and is trying to find answers (even from a neighbor who goes through this winded parable that
goes nowhere).
Lester has more than his infected hand to worry about. (hitfix.com)
Meanwhile, Malvo goes to his roadside seller to buy a police radio. He calls Stavros from Don’s house and
records the convo. And that’s where you find out he’s been keeping recordings of everyone he’s ever talked to on
the phone… including Lester. Anyway, Stavros agrees to pay the ransom. Malvo asks Don if he has a closet that
locks. Not a good sign. And then he asks for a drill. Alrighty. But instead of killing him he just locks him in the
closet. He doesn’t want Don messing anything up. He drives Stavros to his office for him to get the money.
Lester is in an ambulance, delirious because of the infected hand. Molly is trying to ask him questions while he’s
not himself which is getting nowhere. But the little he DOES say opened up some more questions. But there’s
some bad news for Lester. The doctor informs Molly that he removed a foreign object from Lester’s hand – a
shotgun pellet – with some fibers on it. She goes over to Lester’s house to search for clues.
Gus is nearby Stavros’ house in time to see Malvo driving up with Stavros. But he really doesn’t see him. Malvo
turns on his high beams, almost blinding Gus. He stakes out Gus’s place but his neighbor tells him to leave or
he’ll call the police. He does, but not before trying to intimidate the guy.
The now deceased chief’s wife has her baby and Molly pays her a visit in the hospital, reminiscing and reassuring
her that she’s doing her best to catch his killer.
Wednesday
The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon
Guests: Maya Rudolph, Robert Duvall, Lily Allen
In the night’s Suggestion Box, a suggestion came in asking if he could imitate one of those bass fish you hang on
the wall. And what do you know, Lance Bass (bass…get it?) of mega group Nsync came on to fit that role.
Lance Bass was a wall hanging bass fish come to life. (news.nom.co)
Maya Rudolph visited to talk about her variety show, “The Maya Rudolph Show”.
Robert Duvall talks about his movie “A Night in Old Mexico”… and bomb proof horses. Huh?
Lily Allen performs her latest single, “Hard Out Here.”
Hell’s Kitchen (FOX)
“11 Chefs Compete”
We find out who moves on from the “Cook for your Life Challenge”. It’s Richard. Jessica had to leave the kitchen.
It’s a little heartbreaking seeing her beg to be let back into the kitchen.
Ramsay promises that their morning was going to start off with a bang. He has cars waiting for them outside and
they take them to one of his gastropubs. They think he has a trick up his sleeve but he just wants to show them
around the bistro…especially the menu. The menu later that night will be gastropub inspired.
Things get bad for the Blue Team (the men) at service though. So much so that the Red Team (women), for the
second time, had to go over into their kitchen to help them… and also to finish their service when Ramsay threw
them out of the kitchen.
Eliminated: Ralph
Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)
“Fear (of the Unknown)”
Grey’s Anatomy’s season finale said goodbye to Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) after 10 years of snark, sarcasm, and
an eventual character transformation. But it wouldn’t be Grey’s if her send off wasn’t dramatic or memorable
enough. Add in an explosion at Seattle’s “Mall of the Woods” and you have an episode that’s not only going to
test your tear ducts, but also your blood pressure. Thanks…a lot…Shonda Rhimes.
While Cristina ties up loose ends before she heads off to Zurich, an explosion that tests the hospital’s ultimate
capacity (literally and figuratively) put Grey Sloan Memorial on overdrive. The explosion is so great that the idea
of terrorism is not left off the table. But hold on. Didn’t Cristina say she was going to the mall? Oh. Patients fly in
with different injuries – internal and physical. Among the injured are a surrogate who’s 31 weeks pregnant, a
couple who lost a little boy in the mall, and a little boy who suddenly collapses outside the hospital (with an
apparent chest injury). While Karev was administering CPR to the little guy, a doctor steps in to help. It’s Cristina.
She didn’t have time to go to the mall. Phew! I thought they were going to let her leave on a death bed.
There’s an explosion a Seattle’s “Mall of the Woods”, and everybody is in full alert mode. (wetpaint.com)
But there’s a development in the mall explosion. The police have zeroed in on two teenagers who were caught on
the mall’s security camera walking through the mall, one with a backpack. Sounds a bit like the Boston Marathon
bombing, doesn’t it? Anyway, one of the suspects is badly injured and while being interrogated by DHS
(Department of Homeland Security), collapses on the floor. DHS wants to keep questioning the young man who’s
obviously close to death but Meredith took control and demanded them to leave. He needs surgery. Murphy
returned to help out and is asked to keep an eye out for the lost little boy. To make matters worse, the news entity
covering the explosion is scaring the public with speculations about the type of chemical poisoning the patients
may have. Anthrax? Radioactive Contamination? All guessing. And they’re reporting from right there in the
hospital. Owen is livid, storms into the live broadcast and tells them to stop scaring the viewers. Shut the camera
off and leave.
So more developments… The teenager is no longer a suspect, the DHS is no longer interested in him (even
though they wanted to question him RIGHT out of surgery), and the chemical from the chemical poisoning was
dry cleaner fluid from a dry cleaner in the mall. That’s what was causing their skin blisters. According to the news,
the blast was caused by a gas main explosion and authorities found no evidence of foul play. Also, Murphy and
Kepner thought the boy Karev and Cristina operated on was the couple’s lost son, but he wasn’t.
Christina had to dance it out with Meredith before she left. (freaks4series.com)
Things have died down a bit, but Cristina is having a hard time letting go. She wants to neatly tie up loose ends
and is feeling a bit emotional about things. She goes around telling everyone goodbye. Emotional goodbyes. So
emotional that Owen stands over a body on the operating table, looking up at Cristina with tears in his eyes.
Alrighty. A heart arrives for her former patient, and she wants to be the one to operate. Meredith practically has to
push her in the cab so she doesn’t miss her flight and her opportunity. But she returns to the hospital to “dance it
out” with Meredith who is “still her person”.
“I need you alive. You make me brave.” *Reaching for some tissue*
So they dance it out. I hope they weren’t dancing to the song that was playing (for the viewers), ‘cause they
weren’t dancing to the beat. At. All.
But there are other pots boiling, like Webber choosing Bailey to fill Cristina’s empty seat on the board and Cristina
leaving her shares of the board to Karev (unbeknownst to anybody else). Friction city. Meanwhile, Derek and
Meredith are at odds with moving to D.C. She doesn’t want to go. She feels she would be his tagalong (as
always) and will be forever in his shadow. He feels his job, at this moment, is more important than hers, and they
need to make this move. But Meredith said she is not going…ANYWHERE!
And, oooooh, the new Head of Cardio? Seems like a new sister for Meredith and could be Webber’s daughter.
She was adopted and she recently found out that her birth mother was Ellis Grey, Meredith’s mother. Nice way to
breathe some new life into the series.
The 10th season ends with a closed door that says, “Dr. Cristina Yang: Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery”.
Aaaaawww.
