• The presentation, diagnosis and management of common medical conditions and symptoms encountered in an ambulatory setting

• How to incorporate the principles of evidence-based medicine into their practice

• How to share information with other practitioners and think critically

• Most modules will include nutrition and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM)

• 2 year revolving curriculum

Expectations of PGY3 Presenters

• Meet with faculty mentor at least 4 weeks before presentation to discuss content and style

• Provide an outline of presentation at least 2 weeks before presentation to mentor

• Include citations of web - based and other resources used

• Include at least 1 original research article in preparation for presentation

• Describe the quality of the evidence for any recommendations made

Resident Evaluation by Faculty Mentor

• Form to be completed by faculty mentor and is incorporated into overall evaluation of the presentation

Module Exams

• At the end of each module an exam will be distributed.

• All residents must complete each question set in a timely fashion and return them to Joanne Dempster.

Module Exams

• Each questions set will then be graded in a timely fashion and returned with correct answers in your mailbox at RPSM.

• Responses will not be accepted after the return date posted.
