Dear Parents and Community Members, It is hard to believe that there is only 4 weeks remaining in the 2019 school year. School Captains Speeches A massive congratulations to all students who made the effort to write and present captain speeches to their year 5 peers. Our second and final round of Captain Speeches will occur on Tuesday 4th November and the candidates for the whole school election are:
2MO and Leadership Team excursion: Our 2018 school leaders travelled to 2MO studios and enjoyed Jules teaching them about how the studio works. Jules was amazed at the talent of students especially Owen who was an expert using the equipment panel. Finally, we would like to thank Jules and 2MO for their support this year. Additionally, I would like to thank our leadership team for their amazing efforts this year. Guest Speaker – Luke Kennedy This week our years 3,4,5&6 students had the opportunity to listen to Luke Kennedy, a motivational speaker visiting public schools in our area. This opportunity hopefully has provided students with a positive mindset for the remainder of the year. I would also like to thank students, parents, staff and community members for the positive feedback we have received from Luke’s visits.
Enjoy the week ahead. Pete Baum Principal

Year 6 recently travelled to Sydney for their annual excursion. Students had a great time
participating in a variety of activities such as surfing, ropes course, indoor rock climbing and swimming. They also visited Taronga Zoo, Sydney Aquarium and ANZ Stadium. The highlights of
the trip would have to be the Teppenyaki dinner at Ichiban restaurant and their visit to the Sunrise studio. It was a very noisy venue and a lot of fun was had by all. Thanks so much to Mr. Ben Robertson for helping out and also to the teachers that gave up their time to make the
excursion such a success – Mr. Sumpter, Miss. Laurie and Miss. Willcocks.

Our school is having a live in-school musical performance by The Playground Craze. The performance includes cool pop music and fun theatre to engage students with important social-emotional skills and values. Positive pop music covers topics such as confidence, resilience, kindness, persistence, friendship and cooperation.
The Playground Craze help students strengthen self-awareness and self-management of personal and social skills found in the new Australian National Curriculum.
In a rock-concert-like atmosphere, the band uses street dance, pop music and comedy to build rapport with children. Students learn, through storytelling, how to build positive attributes in themselves by observing the characters in ‘real world’ contexts of young people.
To prepare for the performance, families can listen to the music and start to learn the lyrics.
