Nepal Earthquake Raffle

Well done to Sophie Rose (8RX) for

raising £61.47 for the Nepal

Earthquake Victims. The raffle would not have been a success without the help of 8RX. A special mention has to go to Daniela, Chelsea, Varney & Ajay Sesay who helped every lunchtime.

The winners are: Sweet Hamper- Esme Spencer. Chocolate Hamper- Mrs Cook. Mr R Harvey, Head of Year 8

Duke of Edinburgh - Icing on the Cake!

As we head towards the end of the school year, Mrs Jones has just finished teaching the third set of classes Icing Skills for the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award. (The next course is planned for early in the next academic year!). Two groups worked after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting in March, and have just completed their course, producing beautifully decorated cake as their final pieces.

The girls learnt about different types of icing, how and why they are used, and then developed the skill of piping, using royal and buttercream icings. They also spent time using fondant icing for modelling and to create decorative designs. The final project of the course was to take a blank white cake and complete a beautiful and unique design using their newly acquired skills.

Girls who attended the groups - and produced amazing cakes – are:

Sasha Gehrmann, Kathryn Dempster, Rachel McArthur, Genevieve Schofield, Julia Wadey, Penny French, Valerie Ho, Kyra Agraan, Bethanie Stafford, Megan Lewis and Lauren Clowser.

We aim to have a sale at the Summer Festival on 4 July but parents will also be able to contact us via the PSA page on the website to find out about available stock. If you have any clean uniform and/or revision guides that your daughter no longer uses, please donate to the PSA. All monies raised through the sale of these donations will be used to provide funding for extra resources at Rosebery School. Please hand your donations into Reception, marked for the attention of the PSA. Many thanks for your continued support.

PSA/Parents Social at the Cricketers Pub – Tuesday 7 July from 7pm

Would you like to meet other Rosebery parents, guardians and carers and make a positive difference to

the school at the same time?

The PSA not only organises fundraising events and activities but also provides an opportunity to get to

know other people from the school community socially. This is something that is more difficult in

secondary schools as there is not the opportunity to chat at the school gate!

Please come and join us for a chat and a glass of wine at our next social evening on Tuesday 7 July from

7pm at The Cricketers Stamford Green. We would love to see you!

Disco Coordinator

Due to our current disco coordinator’s daughter leaving the school, we need a parent/carer to take on

this exciting and important role. Our Year 7 and 8 students really look forward to attending the discos

and the coordinator is key to ensuring they all run smoothly. If you would like more information, please

contact the PSA on [email protected].

Co-Chair

We are also looking for a Co-Chair of the PSA to work in partnership with the PSA and the School. Again,

for more details, please contact the PSA on [email protected].

This summer the Royal Institution has an action-packed programme of fun,

hands-on educational activities for everyone aged seven and older, from half day and

The innovative and interactive Summer Schools are designed to bring to life all areas of

science, mathematics, computing and engineering. With over 70 sessions to choose
