The students’ response has been wonderful; they have sensitively and compassionately reached out to each other and to staff, have paid warm and meaningful tributes to Natalie, and have also shown considerable resilience and determination. I have met with all students again this week, during their House assemblies, to ensure that they are aware of how proud I am of them. Thank you for all your kind words and messages over the last few days; they are greatly appreciated and are a wonderful reminder of how strong our community is. At this very difficult time, we have all taken great comfort from the flowers and tributes to Natalie, which we will ensure are conveyed to the Scott family. We continue to be in close touch with external sources of support for any student that might need it and included in this newsletter is a leaflet from Jigsaw (page 6), a charity which specialises in helping young people with bereavement. You may wish to contact them directly if you are concerned about your daughter, or we would be happy to do so on your behalf. Arrangements for the end of term As we reach the end of term, there are a number of events to which I need to draw you attention. We have our Senior Prize Giving at 7pm on Tuesday 15 December, followed by our Carol Service at Christ Church at 6.30pm on Wednesday evening. Christmas lunch is being served for Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 on Wednesday 16 December and for Years 7, 8 and 9 on Thursday 17. Tickets for this must be bought in advance in the Canteen and only ‘grab and go’ food will be available for those who have not ordered a Christmas lunch. We finish the term on Friday 18 December with Christmas Jumper day for Save the Children and school will finish at 12pm. Our annual Christmas card (pictured) has been designed this year by student Rose-Marie Luk in Year 9. My congratulations to Rose for this stunning artwork. Start of term 2016 A reminder that students have an additional INSET day on Tuesday 5 January and so we look forward to their return on Wednesday 6 January 2016. Have a very good weekend.
