This venue, offering a relaxing environment with its comfy chairs and sofas, is the best place to hang out in between lectures or to grab lunch. At night Lounge… transforms into a social hub with dance floor, perfect for partying with friends.

village Inn College Road, Hamstead

village Inn is located next to Hamstead Halls. It has a real community feel and is a firm favourite for students living on campus. This cosy pub is the perfect place to relax or get in the mood for a great night out. With pool tables and Sky Tv, the village Inn is a real

thepavilion Moor Lane

The Conservatoire Bar Conservatoire, paradise place

This is our smallest bar, but by far our most musical. Located inside the Conservatoire building just off Broad Street, this bar is used for pre-concert and interval drinks. So if you are at the Conservatoire watching a show, pop in and say hello.

Café Direct The Union Building, City North Campus

pop in for that much needed snack and hot drink to get you through

as they can go; making sure it is most affordable for you.

great lunch deals every day.

Birmingham City Students’ Union have over 20 sports teams. You can get involved at a competitive level and participate in the British University College Sports leagues, or play just for fun, even if you’ve never played the sport before. Not only will you meet new friends through taking part in competitions, but also through the social events organised by the sports teams!

Societies also play a large part in student life at Birmingham City. Ranging from music, cultural, political or educational interests we have a society made for you. And if we don’t have a society for what you’re into, we’ll set one up! Societies offer you a great chance to meet new people and make friends, have great nights out and make your time at Uni truly unforgettable!

We have a whole host of publications and media sources for you to use. If you have an interest in media, be it writing, photography, Tv or radio presentation or direction, we would love to have you on board. Run by students for students, Tiger Tv, Scratch Radio and Spaghetti Junction magazine are always looking for fresh ideas, so make sure you take the opportunity to get involved. You will meet lots of new people and make your Cv shine!

We also encourage you to get involved in voluntary projects. We work with organisations such as MENCAp, Friends of the Earth and the Samaritans as well as loads of local charities. volunteering not only makes a real difference to people’s lives and the local community, but can also offer you the chance for personal growth and gain valuable skills. volunteering means your Cv will really stand out and you will gain more from your experiences than you think is possible.
