Freshers Fringe Week 1 Tuesday 1st to Friday 4th October Tues 1st Oct 11:30am-5pm A day of fun & events for all students with visible and invisible disabilities, learning difficulties, chronic and mental health conditions. We will be hosting a selection of York's best societies who will be running accessible taster sessions for everyone to enjoy! Come for the whole day or drop in for an hour, there will be something for everyone. You will also have a chance to find out what support services are available at York, including Disability Services, YUSU Advice and Support, Open Door, DSA funding, and the Student Hub. 5pm-8pm This will be a safe space for anybody who identifies within the LGBTQ umbrella, who wants to meet other LGBTQ+ people and kick-start beautiful friendships and experiences here at York. This is a meet and greet session where you can chat and get to know your LGBTQ O�cer, members of our LGBTQ Network and find out how you can get involved in events, campaigns/-fundraising, LGBT History Month, York Pride 2020 and loads more! Come along for this relaxed afternoon with food and soft drinks provided.

7pm-10pm Come along to a screening of the powerful documentary Arise: Women Healing the Environment. On every continent, women are taking the lead to protect and restore the natural environment, and are empowering others to respect the earth. Arise presents the stories of a diverse group of thirteen women in five countries who have initiated solution-oriented environ-mental projects in their communities, towns and villages. Arise gives voice to these powerful women, and weaves together their inspiring stories with stunning images, poetry and music by well-known writers and musicians, including Alice Walker and Michael Franti.

In collaboration with the University’s Student Support team, YUSU Volunteering is hosting a relaxed microvolunteering session to allow you to ‘give volunteering a go’ whilst making friends over a free cup of co�ee. No previous experience is needed, just pop along whenever is convenient for you

The power of neurodiversity workshop, led by a MSA committee member, will tackle the misconceptions around neurodiversity, focusing on autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. This student led workshop will discuss the power of the neurodiverse brain and how to get help from the University if you’re neurodiverse and struggling.

8:30pm-Late A calm, accessible evening in The Lounge for all self identified disabled students to have fun and meet new people with cocktails and mocktails. Will have step-free access, standard lighting, volume-controlled music, accessible seating and a quiet space.
