Unfortunately, there is no designated space currently offering a comfortable environment for those seeking counseling. How do you intend to refurbish the Sanctuary? anks to normal usage over the years, several items in the Sanctuary require aention for renovation or upgrade. On the improvement/upgrade list is the installation of a new floor and an improved lighting system. Our focus includes enlarging the altar area and, importantly, rebuilding the steps to the altar to comply with safety standards. We know that for many, negotiating those steps is a challenge, so we intend to make the climb easier and safer. Our plans call for incorporating the current images in the Sanctuary throughout the church, the multi-purpose facility and the new adoration chapel. And, as part of the refurbishment, we will add images of our patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi. We will provide more information on the decorative images once we finalize architectural renderings. *The Celebration Goal includes the resurfacing of the parking lot but the parish will address this project as the last component of the Campaign.

Why does St. Francis need a new multipurpose facility? Don’t we already have enough classrooms? The proposed multipurpose facility will allow St. Francis to further its mission as we strive to encounter, grow and serve Jesus Christ. Over the past few years, our religious education program (pre-k to 12) has grown from 512 in 2014-2015 to 930 in 2017-2018 and we expect continued growth.

However, we face a major challenge keeping pace. The parish lacks adequate space to best serve our children as the areas currently available are not always the most conducive to a catechetical learning environment. We also have a waiting list of families who wish to enroll their children in our new Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.

This new facility will address these issues by providing the space required to serve those longing for faith formation, including RCIA and adult catechesis. Don’t forget, we’ll make this space available for our ministries and programs so they can host productive gatherings and meetings as well.

Why is a new adoration chapel in the multi-purpose facility necessary? “Eucharistic Adoration is the secret to knowing the love of Jesus Christ.” Pope Francis. Staying true to the Pope’s view on this topic, we included a new, dedicated adoration chapel in our plans. It promises to provide individuals more opportunities for personal prayer and a greater encounter with our Lord Jesus Christ in the Most Blessed Sacrament. The building will allow for secure external access with required entrances and exits and include a dedicated bathroom per ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements. This new facility will allow us to incorporate perpetual adoration, as we look forward to the continued spiritual growth of the parish community.

Why does St. Francis need more offices and a counseling room?As the parish grows, so does the need for additional ministerial and administrative staff. Adding new offices will provide the staff appropriate work space.

Pastoral and professional counseling occurs on a frequent basis at St. Francis. Unfortunately, there is no designated space currently offering a comfortable environment for those seeking counseling.

How do you intend to refurbish the Sanctuary? Thanks to normal usage over the years, several items in the Sanctuary require attention for renovation or upgrade.

Our main goal with the refurbishment of the Sanctuary is to improve the worship experience centered on Jesus Christ.

What will happen to the buildings used by the Boy Scouts, Knights of Columbus, and Young Church? Built in the late 1970s at the original church property, the parish moved these buildings to their current location in the early 1980s. Whether affected by the move or time, both buildings are no longer useful. Structural damage and lack of adequate space means they cannot meet our demands. The new multi-purpose facility will replace these structures, which we will sell or demolish. Of course, Young Church, the scouts and Knights of Columbus will receive use of the new facility.

I give to the maintenance fund. Why aren’t some of these needs addressed through this fund? First, we are grateful for your continued support of this account. It is our “rainy-day fund” providing reserves if an unexpected maintenance need arises, such as replacing the air conditioner or fixing plumbing issues. The proposed Campaign projects are planned renovations and upgrades. By funding these projects, St. Francis will maintain its necessary emergency funds.

How would my donation to the Capital Campaign differ from my weekly offertory? Your donation to the Capital Campaign would signify a gift that goes beyond your offertory donation. Offertory donations support our religious programs, pay our utility bills, staff salaries and other operating expenses. Capital Campaign donations go directly to funding the proposed projects.
