French 3 and 3 Honors LAYFO9 / LAYF11
Course Description This course focuses on all language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students build on the level of proficiency in each of these skills already acquired with increased emphasis on reading and writing. Class work includes paired and group activities to practice new vocabulary and grammar structures both orally and in writing as well as listening activities in class and in the language laboratory. Cultural topics focus both on France and Francophone countries around the world. This course prepares students for French 4 and 4 Honors.

Learning Targets - French 3/3 Honors 1st Semester
I Over-arching Reading Targets: I can comprehend a passage of fiction or non-fiction containing structures and vocabulary presented in the course.
II Over-arching Vocabulary Targets: I can recognize and use vocabulary contained in
Discovering French Nouveau, Reprise through Chapter 5.
III Over-arching Verb Targets: I can recognize and use a variety of verbs. • I can recognize and use reflexive verbs in the present tense. • I can recognize and use reflexive verbs as an infinitive. • I can recognize and use reflexive verbs in the passé composé. • I can recognize and use regular and irregular verbs in the present subjunctive of
