ECKANKAR is a worldwide religion known to many as an ancient teaching. The ECK, or the Holy Spirit, works on our own behalf to expand our consciousness and help us see God in our everyday lives. Harold Klemp, the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, is the leader of ECKANKAR.
Divine Love Always Builds
“Divine love doesn’t hurt, it always builds. Of course, as human beings trying to express divine love, we don’t always do it right. But if we really care about the principle of truth, we will catch ourselves again and again. When we can finally admit that we have not always practiced the highest form of love, we can then try to open our hearts and be a better channel for the love of God.
The individuals who can actually live the principle of love in their own lives, and let other people be, are living examples of the highest truth. It doesn’t matter whether they know anything about ECKANKAR or not.”

The South Bay ECK Center offers a welcoming, interactive environment for adults and youth to discover the spiritual benefits hidden in our life experiences. Join us for ECK Light and Sound Services, HU Songs, and discussions from books by Harold Klemp, the spiritual leader of ECKANKAR, that focus on spiritual topics and tools that allow Soul to gain greater love, wisdom, and spiritual freedom.
ECK Light and Sound Service
The purpose of the ECK Light and Sound Service is to bring one closer to the heart of God. This month’s theme is “How Divine Love Grows,” led by John Holt. The service begins with the HU song, a powerful love song to God,. followed by a video of Harold Klemp, then a guest speaker. You can also enjoy a small group discussion to share your experience, or simply listen. Refreshments and fellowship follow the service.
The Sound of Soul Event
The HU can uplift you, expand your consciousness, even give a healing if it is for your spiritual well-being. Most of all, it is a way we manifest God’s love. “When your day is hard, remember to sing HU. It puts you back in line with the Holy Spirit.” (The Sound of Soul, p. 41). You are warmly welcomed to the Sound of Soul event on the first Saturday of the month at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, it will be held at 1 p.m. at the Rinconada Library, 1213 Newell Rd., Palo Alto. Saturday, June 23, it is at 2 p.m. at the Community of Infinite Spirit, 1540 Hicks Ave., S.J.

The SBEC Lending Library has a wide selection of books, music CDs, and DVDs. Some new releases are: ECK Essentials, Your Key to Spiritual Living, A Cosmic Sea of Words: The ECKANKAR Lexicon, the 2018 ECKANKAR Journal, and The Road to Spiritual Freedom, Mahanta Transcripts, Book 17. These materials and many others are also for sale.

An Exercise to Try
Create a Brighter World
“If you have an uncomfortable experienced or dream—or one you don’t understand—take it into contemplation. Begin by singing HU for a few minutes. Then rewind the dream or experience, and run it through your mind. Next, visualize a door that opens into golden sunlight. This is the Light of God. “Now take the uncomfortable experience from the darkness; take it from the silence and solitude through the open doorway where it is dissolved by the Light and Sound of God. “This exercise can get you in the habit of looking for a brighter, more creative world, where you can find more inner satisfaction. With the help of the Inner Master, the Mahanta, you are learning to take charge of your life. You are becoming the aware Soul, the creator of your own worlds.”

Finding the South Bay ECK Center

We are across Moorpark from Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, just west of Bascom Avenue. There is a small parking lot behind our
building; street parking is available on Moorpark and along the I-280 sound wall on Central Way, just one short block north of the Center;
and Valley Med has a free parking structure across the street.
By Car From the north, drive south on Bascom Avenue, cross over I-280 and
turn right onto Moorpark at the next traffic light.
From the south, drive north on Bascom, drive past Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, then turn left onto Moorpark at the traffic light. Note:
Moorpark Avenue becomes one-way east of Bascom, forcing you toward southbound 280. To drive around San Jose City College and get back to the ECK Center: turn right on Leigh, right on Fruitdale, right on
Bascom, and left on Moorpark.

Eckankar—The Path of Spiritual Freedom
Eckankar teaches that there is an audible life current known as the ECK, or Holy Spirit, that connects each of us with the heart of God. We can experience the ECK as Light and Sound.
