THE ROYAL ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL ENGINEERS

Lots of hands on challenges including building a hovercraft, and detecting mines! See the inside of a car engine and talk to army engineers about their exciting careers.



ALLIANZ

Allianz work in insurance and engineering. They are bringing thermal imaging cameras and remote control cars to show some of the cool gadgets they get to work with



BLOODHOUND SSC

This team are working hard to build a rocket car to travel faster than 1000 miles per hour! Have a go building your own rocket car using coke and mentos!



BRITISH AIRWAYS

Workshops offered to allow you to design the perfect wing for an airplane. Once completed a competition to see whose design can fly a plane the furthest



BRITISH PETROLEUM

Come an talk to engineers from BP about careers in chemistry. Try your hand at some awesome computer and engineering challenges



CCITE

There is so much STEM in sport, it is difficult to separate the two! Take a look at the science of exercise and see sport in a different way.



GODALMING COLLEGE

Wondered what it would be like to go to Godalming College? Take a look with fun activities including motion sensor games, setting fire to bin bags and talking photos.

Machinery doesn’t get bigger or cooler than agricultural technology. This farm equipment is controlled from outer space!

Come along and you will get to hold a whole host of interesting animals including reptiles and insects.

Come and talk to Janet – a fashion designer who works for the Lion King Theatre Show in London.

Everyone loves lasers. But, have you ever tried popping balloons with lasers? If not, make sure you come to this stand at the festival!



MCLAREN

Come and take a look at some of the components that are used in Formula One racing and talk to real Formula One engineers.



QINETIQ

Have a go at programming a Lego robot! Make robots drive forwards, backwards, round in circles and even follow black tape! Talk with engineers from Qinetiq about exciting careers in aerospace and defence industries.



PALL CORPORATION

A chemical sample has been contaminated with lots of tasty treats! Can you use filtration separation techniques to clean the sample? Any impurities can be taken home and eaten.

Use Parax paper to write underwater! See this amazing paper made from stone and try your hand at some cool origami.

Take part in a competition to see how long you can stay balanced on a balance ball!



UNIVERSITY OF PORTSMOUTH

Try your hand at building a robot. With the help of our undergraduate engineering students visitors can have a go at building a Robobot or a Vibrobot.

A consultant from the Pathological laboratory at Queen Alexandra Hospital will be giving you the chance to test blood types just like they do in the hospital. See what a real job in medicine could be like. A 7ft walking, talking and dancing robot!
