Free Community Workshop "Creating a Community of Upstanders"

The interactive workshop is based on a presentation developed by the Boy Scouts of America and the U.S.Department of Health and Human Services. We will discuss the differences between bullying and harassmentand the prevalence and consequences of bullying. Suggestions will be offered for responding to bullyingbehaviors and how to be proactive. Attendees will learn the signs of a child who is being targeted and how tohelp them, how you can help the aggressor change their behavior, and how you can help change bystandersinto upstanders. Finally, the workshop will include ideas for creating a welcoming and safe environment.

There will be an opportunity for discussion after the PowerPoint presentation.

The same presentation is offered on 3 separate days.

The Moraga School District and the Moraga iKind Project will be implementing the C.A.R.E. programdeveloped and used by the Acalanes Union High School District. Adopting existing and new programs undera common theme will provide a TK-12 and community wide solution and promote opportunities for the entirecommunity to work together.
